| I had a lot of success with that one on my blog. Earnings have dropped a bit at the minute so am considering removing it from some sites that I can earn from anyway.

Doesn't blending it to the page make it not as visible? I read a comment that it might be worth making the stick out, draw people attention to them and hope a headline triggers their attention.

The biggest issue I can see here is the ad should appear above the fold. In other words further up the page, so it's the first thing people see. You could also do with more ads on the page. Apart from that nice blog keep up the work.

Ideally you want ads from sites that seel a prduct because they're more often than not willing to pay Google more to get their ads shown. Now if you consider Linux, you're likely to get ads from sites offering advice on how to use the software. These sites will probably make little or no profit. Perhaps you should reconsider the use of Adsense on your blog, just a thought.

I've always done best with one down the left hand side. But I'm not an adsense expert by any stretch of the imagination.

Adsense income depends on the traffic to your site also. If the traffic is less it will affect the adsense income also. I had minimal adsense when the traffic to my site was low, but now as the traffic is increasing the adsense income also is seeing an upward graph.

| Oddly enough I've always done best on the right. I don't think there is a clear cut way of playing adsense. It's almost like a game of chance.

| I think it depends on the rest of the blog -- where the readers eye will naturally travel. When I moved my Adsense on DomestikGoddess.com to between the posts (end of post on single page), it doubled the income at least. But others have had a different experience. In fact, on my Beekeepers blog, Adsense does quite well just in the right sidebar -- but that's got a really rocking theme and I don't know if it would work as well with a different theme. No matter where the ads are put, custom colours to blend them into the overall look of the page is important.

Thanks for all the advice... I've made some alterations: codegobbler.com | web design and development resources I have a 120x600 on the left, and have removed the other ad spot. We'll see what happens. |
