You should never use the so-called "free hosting". Most of them require intrusive ads to be put on your blog and as soon as your blog takes off and starts getting some heavy traffic, they'll kick you out..

As they say, you get what you pay for. Never, ever, go with free hosting, especially if you're serious about blogging.

I agree, you should never use free hosting. If you are truly serious about blogging, then take the time to register your own domain, and get a hosting service provider. The majority of them are fairly cheap too.

I've got to wonder how they make money off of this. Its hard for me to imagine any company being truly generous and giving out free hosting, they're always getting something out of it.


The only thing I can think of is that they probably steal your site if you become too popular and try and ransom it back...

but would they give you for free forever? and what are the TOS? are there any support if something goes wrong?

well I am very serious about make money blogging so I will NEVER use free hosting apart from blogger, wordpress.com for helping purposes.
