Why is the focus of so many blog to make money?

Archery, model trains, softball....almost anything would be better than to blog about blogging or MMO.

I didn't start my blog to make money. In fact, I didn't even begin promoting it until I was about 9 months into my trip. I wasn't even paying attention to the competition, monetization, or anything.

Despite being on the road, I've had a helluva education in the last 4 months. I've made some big mistakes. I think sharing my mistakes and successes would be valuable to other people, but running another blog full time probably wouldn't be possible right now, and I'm not sure it would be worth the effort seeing I haven't run any ads yet and have nothing to say of substance.

I blog to make money. If I didn't make money I wouldn't blog. Therefore so many blogs are to make money because if it wasn't then there wouldn't be many blogs.

I think many are fascinated with the concept that you can potentially make a living just by sitting at home by your computer and write about things that interest you.

Making money is never my starting point for creating a site, for me it's a nice bonus.

I never started blogging to make money - simply to write. And I have several blogs so I can write on several topics. One of my blogs got turned into a book last year though and I am making money through the sales of the book.

wow, that is so cool, what is the niche of that blog? i think many bloggers secretly want to be celebrity and to enjoy the fame they never had, especially if they do it with an MMO blog hehe...
