Why is the focus of so many blog to make money?

Well a lot of people who make MMO blogs do so by reading other MMO blogs and they start to think "I should make a blog but from a newbie's perspective. I'm sure lots of people would love to read about how a newbie makes money and not someone who's been at it for a while". Unfortunately a lot of these people don't realize that hundreds (if not thousands) of others have had that same idea.

Then there's the Referral MMO bloggers. These people only blog about MMO, not because they want to blog about it, but because they want to put referral links to sites they belong to. You can usually tell those apart by the lack of posting.

I guess someone out there should write "if you want to make money online, put some original content. So no more MMO blogs"

I agree with people saying many MMO bloggers talk about making money but that's the closest they come to it. 90% of them have no real criteria or place doing it and that's why 90% of them don't make much money or have legit RSS subscribers. Frankly I think contests have ruined the validity of many blog's RSS subscriber count. I could give away $100 and a bunch of other things and increase my count but is anyone reading it?

The real money is in writing a niche on what you love. Then again I guess if you aren't an expert on anything and want money if you can't make it next best thing is to talk about it right?

Most people blog about making money online because that's their focus, making money online. That's what they're passionate about, because they hate their day job, they fantasize about retiring early, etc, etc.

So with all their focus on "making money", they blog about it. And yeah, the high profile successful blogs don't hurt either.

A few do it because they truly want to help others (I count my blog in that category), but most are out to duplicate what other MMO blogs tell them to do, which just perpetuates all the junk that is posted about the niche.

My standard advice to people who ask me is to stay far away from MMO, and to look to their off line life for something they're truly excited about sharing. Sadly, most ignore me.

Heh. I need to read more MMO blogs. Especially the high profile ones. I could use some better quality traffic. Anyone got suggestions, Big blogs, that get a lot of views every day?

My opinion, if you want quality traffic, write more content and SEO your site.

Although many people say MMO niche is overcrowded and probably saturated, there is still bits and crumbs of money to make in this niche, such as from paid reviews, ebook affiliation sales and referral programs.

If anyone who has been in the niche for few months and has not made a single dime, then he/she is not doing things right, and seriously should consider moving out of this niche...

i think money is an interesting factor in the internet. You know , some peoples have make money a billionaire dollar in view years, just in the internet, so why don't to be like that?
