I have uncovered what appears to be the tip of the iceberg as it relates to Adengage publishers using some very deceptive methods to entice or bait users to click ads.
After examining the Top 10 most prolific websites that offer Adengage ads, I found that 9 of them were using questionable methods to trick surfers into clicking their ads. Not only does this send advertisers virtually worthless traffic, but it depletes their advertising budget because they are paying for traffic that will likely never convert. What made you decide to do such indepth research? Were you an advertiser?

Adengage reports that they serve about 15 BILLION ads a month. If only 5% of those result in clicks we are talking about 750,000,000 clicks and if only 1% are from these deceptive methods (my research shows 90%, but let's be conservative) we are talking about 7.5 million bad clicks. That comes out to just under $500k a month in potential advertiser dollars down the tubes. I think that the possibility of advertisers losing that much money warrants concern, don't you? |
