Default Join The Monthly Blog Flip Challenge

I'm working on a few large projects, but this is a slightly smaller one that should be interesting - the monthly blog flip challenge.

Basically what I'm thinking is start a blog, develop it for 1/2 months and then see how much it goes for. If a good amount, rinse, repeat - MMO/Blogging blogs are going for good amounts right now and a couple thousand extra (depending on marketing) sounds pretty good to me.

I will be trying this out with Make Money Online Kid and will be trying to incorporate the aspects of 30 Day Blogging Challenge - Drastically Increase Your Traffic - Discussion
(posting every day)... as I've got time on my hands, spending 20 - 30 minutes updating an extra blog daily will not be a problem.

If any other Bloggeries members want to try the Monthly (either one month or two, not sure yet) Blog Flip Challenge, feel free to let me know - a little bit of friendly competition is always good especially when both bloggers will (hopefully) get a decent payoff at the end.

If there is enough interest, I'll set up a website for this and run it as a monthly/bi-monthly event, as it could be interesting to say the least

What would be the rules for it? You've gotta have rules for it to be a good contest.

Say have each bi-month (since I figure it would take 2 months to get enough traffic to actually make a sale) have a specific theme, and all the contest entries have to be a part of that theme.

What would be how it would be ranked/the prize? I really think this could have some potentially, especially if we got some people who were really good at it. Maybe a requirement would be that you have 2 months to create and market the blog, then in the third month you have to make a sale, the person who has the highest sale value gets to choose the next theme?

I'd be all for it, especially if there is some kind of an agreement to cross-promote each other in an aim to get a higher overall sale price.

Really cool concept. Imagine if you could spend 2-3 hours a day for a month and flip for 2500-3000$.... who needs to go to work anymore?

@ Jay, already started, if you wanna try something, register a new domain, and ping me

@ Skolor, aye, rules... the world needs them eh. Bi-monthly sounds fine - two months to build traffic and RSS subscribers.

As for the specific theme, I'm thinking Internet Marketing/Blogging Tips/Make Money Online niche and related. Although eventually it could be expanded into other areas, for now those seem fine I think.

Ranked... sale price. Whereas other features should come into it (like RSS subscribers, Alexa and whatnot), the sales price is an indicator of all that as well as how well you can push the sale to prospective buyers. As for a prize, I don't really think one is needed as all will be working towards a specific goal (getting $x,xxx for the blog after two months).

Cross promoting would be the key to getting everyone well setup, and from there it's up to the individual blog owners to try the various ways of promoting their own blog - contests, guest posts, etc.\

@ Daniell, I know you contacted me on MSN about starting up one of these together, seems like we haven't been online at similar times. Interested in taking up on this though?

@ Rob, the dream, to make a living off the internet. Let's hope it works!

LOL I do but I'd like to stop doing that in the Fall .

I think the best money to be made in the MMO industry is in selling MMO sites themselves. It's like the gold rush. The guys who made the MOST except for a few lucky diggers were the guys selling the shovels and other equipment!
