Since you're so much more experienced in this, what is the actual process of selling a site? How does something as intangible as a website change hands?

I'm still a newb mate... that's slowly changing though

With regards to selling a website, it's pretty simple.

a) Receive funds
b) Email files (for the website) to buyer.
c) Transfer domain (through GoDaddy/wherever it's regged).

And you're done

Like what kind of files do you e-mail to the buyer? Just your WP theme, add-ons and stuff like that?

And also, I have about 9 domain names I have prepared... I just have to go buy them now before they're taken!

But Jason, how do you go about selling domain names? And what's the general price range for one?

Under your FTP (you guys know what FTP is? I can explain that too ) there will be a list of the domains you own. Just copy the FULL folder and email it to the buyer

As for selling domain names, price ranges depending on quality, as with anything in life. Some are worth less than a dollar, others a few thousand.

Re selling them - all you do is push it through your account at your domain registrar.

This sounds like a lot of fun. I'm not sure how much a site I make will sell for, but I am definitely in for the experience.

In regards to selling the blogs, when you make a sale you email the files and transfer the domain name the the buyers web hosting. Will this affect the alexa rating, PR etc? or does all that info go with the domain name?

Alexa is due to traffic and Pagerank is due in inbound links. So they'll stay the same, unless of course traffic declines (as what usually happens when a blog is moved to a new owner)

I dont know, in my view it seems like a big waste of time. There are start up blogs all the time that go nowhere,
I don't think that you could effectively create a niche/unique website in just a month.

Prove me wrong!
