I know we've discussed in the past about the optimal ad placement, but now that I have more history with our blog I thought I would share.
We've tried every position except a full page banner at the top or and the bottom of the page. For our site, just don't think it would look right. What has worked the best for me is having the Adsense ads at the end of articles. This area has provided the greatest number of clicks. Visually, it's less obtrusive and 'pushy' than having the ads in the middle of the article. The number of clikcs are many more than for the ads in either the right or left column. And, this is the really surprising part, the revenue per click has been around 5 times greater for ads at the end of an article than in either column. I have not idea what that is, but it was surprising so I wanted to share that with y'all in case it helps. Dan |

Thats interesting i have heard some people say the start of a post is best while others recommend the middle i think different strategies will work better for different blogs although the best thing to do is experiment like you have done yourself.
