Make Money Online Blogs Are Boring And Repetitive | The University Kid

Thoughts? Those of you running them would disagree, but I'd be interested in hearing what you guys had to say

Couldn't agree more. Fact is, most money making blogs online don't actually make money. Why the hell should I read about make money online if you can't do it? People like John Chow add personal content because we want to hear from them, there's a person behind them. It'd be like me blogging on Retro Garden without playing the games. I wouldn't have any authority. A blog that got me into the "Make Money Online" crowd (Mike's Money Making Mission) got me interested because he had made money, and was just doing an experiment to see if he could do it with free blogs. Sure enough, he's doing well.

Whenever I blog about making money online, I usually do it under the premise "Get easy beer money by....". Why?

- I don't make millions, but I make enough to keep me from being sober
- It sticks a lot better in people's mind
- It's more personal.

Ironically I've noticed that people generally agree with you, but half the people that agree by a quick flick through their blogs seem exactly what you were talking about! People don't realise it I guess.

Finally, the other thing I don't like (as a bitter veteran) is "Blogging experts". These haven't been blogging that long (months at best), what gives them the authority to call themself that. These usually get found out.

I completely agree. Too many people get into blogging for the wrong reasons.

hmm... i would agree. and I think that is why I changed my blog to mainly affiliate, internet and general marketing.

Does that make sense?

Maybe I should take a long look at my blog since half the time I feel bored while posting :\

I have a make money online blog. Although I admit that I have made a post about entrecard, I think it's actually a good thing. It took me reading about 20 posts about why I should join entrecard before I tried it out, and now I'm very glad that I did.

I do believe though that many make money online blogs are by people who have no experience making money online, and in many cases that isn't the best thing to do. I waited for nearly a year of online money making before I started my money making blog.

Voice is also very important, I believe. If people can hear your "voice" and it's unique or easy/fun to read, then that can really help differentiate your site from the millions of other sites just like it.

I think part of the problem is that most with make money online blogs plan on having the blog as their primary income vehicle...

Successful MMO blogs are written by people who DO make money online and just talk about their experiences which ultimately leads to more money. Not the other way around.

I bet many would have a better time doing niche blogging; making a killing then starting a blog with some credibility....

I agree l. But also in the mix is a bunch of the SEO Affiliate type and hype sites as well. They can't all be making money !

I think it's an iceberg industry where there are a few that are visible at the top while the vast majority are drowning beneath the surface

It's interesting because now you are starting to see all these SUPER AFFILIATE sites popping up all over the place too. Every one of them claiming to have the SECRET SAUCE to WEB 2.0 WEALTH !!! Yea...it's called trial and error and lot's of hard work.
