yes, though my blog now has some reasonable traffic, i've not started adding ads yet. Want to gain a loyal regular reader base first before doing so.

I disagree. You just don't overdo it.

There will always be initial complaints. Some might threaten you that they are leaving.

In the end you'll find out that readers never left, the complaints have died down and you are monetizing your blog already.

Well, to a certain extent. A little of ads is okay I guess. I don't leave a blog because of it. But if I see "donations" buttons everywhere, PPP (you probably already understood I hate it. Okay, I hate it.), pop-ups etc. I won't stay around. Why would I ?

Blog owners don't realize they overdo it most of time. But I swear 50% of blogs I see on the web are nada but ads.

At the moment, I believe you should be VERY careful when doing pay per posts. I don't do them on my personal blog, largely because they'd look out of place. However, on the fair review blog, I would do them eventually. If I can blog for 3 months without getting bored, why not?

I may go review me though, that way you can write what you want.

Agreed. Trying to make money too early can cost you subscribers which will cost you money in the long run.

I have ads on one, more or less from the start. And the other has minimal ads. I get very similar traffic for both of them but need more ways to get traffic rather than concentrate on ads or no ads at the minute.

I think the big issue is a lot of people OVER DO IT. They are like ok I only have X traffic so I need this many ads to make sure every visitors sees them. Lot's of new blogs have way more ads then established ones with more visitors.

I agree with that article. I defiantly suggest waiting a while before doing so. That way, you can develop a stream of loyal visitors
