Default Affiliate Ad Revenue

Hi,

I am thinking about approaching energy audit firms to see if they want to sponsor my site this month (Yes, I know....the month has already started!).

This approach is new to me.

What are your experiences with affiliate ad revenue?

What are typical rates per day / week / month?

What size of ad and ad position are typically affiliated with such an ad?

How are the ads designed? Is it up to the webmaster, or do sponsors typically already have their ad html and all you need to do is to copy it into a wordpress text widget?

What are the types of agreements? Is there anything formal or is this usually informal?

Many thanks on this.

Default Re: Affiliate Ad Revenue

Lot's of separate issues here

To begin with I'd look for established affiliate programs in your niche and try those channels before approaching larger companies. Maybe try that after you've exhausted the pre existing programs and you're in a position traffic and influence wise to do so.

For ad placement always be trying new stuff. Just ensure when you do experiments you only change one variable so you know exactly what role it plays.
