Default Highest Paying Blog Ad Services

Hi,

I'm coming up for air from trying to finish my new self hosted site; almost there.

I haven't seen it discussed yet (and if so I apologize in advance) so I thought I would ask the following questions:

1. what are the different companies supplying ads on web sites (clicks required vs clicks not required)?

2. who are the competitors to Adsense (because they are the only one's I know of...showing my newness to all this)?

3. how would you rank Adense and its competitors as far as revenue per click?

4. what is the listing of the best non-click advertisers?

5. how would you rank the best non-click advertisers as far as revenue per (what ever measure they use).

I think this would be an interesting discussion and reference thread. This is the forum about making money thru blogs so this should be good.

there are literally tons of different ways to monetize your blog. i take it that you're looking to use Adsense or something similar. It all depends on what your blog is going to be about. depending on what you are blogging about, there are some things I would and wouldn't recommend using. but to name a few:
my fav is blogging about a certain topic and then using affiliate programs and Adsense to make money. Adsense is more of a backup money maker for me. but I know people use things like Widget Bucks, CPA networks, text ads from various affiliate networks, or even pay per post.

again it all depends what the goal and theme of your blog is.

Seeing how I am new to all this I need a bit of coaching here.

1. what is an affiliate program and how does that make money for a blog?

2. what is a pay per post program and how does that make money for a blog?

3. how does one go about having companies pay for an ad on your site that is not dependant upon someone clicking the ad?

Many thanks!

1) google it
2) same as 1

3) make sure they can contact you and you let them know you're open to ideas.

I find if you are using adsense... ADSDAQ - A New Advertising Exchange from ContextWeb is a great one to couple up with it.

Hi Rob,

Never heard of ADSDAQ, but after viewing it's web pages it looks very interesting. Have you been using them long? What's your experience with them?

Thanks!

Recently but it makes me an additional few $ a week to add onto adsense. It's cool I recommend it as it loads up when an ad is ready if not just shows your adsense...

Rats.

Unfortunately the smallest size ad is larger than either of my left or right column.

So, I can't use them as their smallest ad will stick out (not in a good way) from the site.

Oh, well I do like the concept, though.

hi there educator,

an affiliate program is by promoting a product or a website using assigned referral id.You would only got paid once, the referred person signed up or buy a product. It's commission bases.

pay per post program allows you too create a review regarding the product which assigned to your own blog, they pay once it is finish.

hope i made a good explanation

Hey blogtech,
Yep, makes sense. Thanks very much. One would think there would be home building materials suppliers willing to sponsor a blog or two........haven't found one yet.

I've started to see the ppp type sites, but all of them seem a bit on the shady side. I haven't found one that seems reputable or that pay more than a dollar or two. Do you know of any that are reputable? I'll check out smorty's.

Thank you (sometimes laterly I feel more comfortable with a hammer and paint brush than I do the computer! )
