I'm new to all this blogging, including the rules of ad provider organizations like Adsense, but can someone explain something to me? Adsense rules (the ones I actually read before I fell asleep:icon_twisted: ) state that bloggers cannot click the ads on their own blogs. I understand that, fully. But, is there a rule (Adsense or others) whereby members of a forum in which the blogger is a participant cannot click the ads on the blogs of fellow forum members? For example, we have the forum (Pimp My Blog?...I can't remember its proper name here) where we can post our blog and ask for feedback. But, when members of this forum to the blog, do any of us click any of the ad's? Again, I'm just trying to understand this new world I have entered. Thanks for the insites.

Premeditated clicks; patterns of clicks or the same people constantly clicking are all against the TOS and will get you banned. Once banned from Adsense good luck getting back in. Best advice when visiting other people's blogs is to treat them like any other blog. If an ad captures you're attention and you want to check it out then do so. But never just click for the sake of clicking them.

Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow, bloggeries. The more I know...... Now, about the PPP opportunity, is there any such prohibition? I mean, just from a forum like this if we continue to have a 'pimp my blog' thread about people asking others to go to their blog for a looksee, will that enfringe on the PPP revenue stream? Thanks for the feedback!

It'll have to -- if people hear / see the ad but don't click it or do anything then the advertiser has lost money. If someone does click, then the advertiser has invested money in a potential sale. The more times that ad goes off with no effect, then less it's making them, so that'll be less they're going to pay you. |

I think the PPP is a very good idea. However, seeing as how it's a new idea you can bet there are bugs crawling all over it. They claim that they have been testing it for 2 1/2 years and it's working fine. Maybe yes --- maybe no. It's kind of a wait and see thing. I'm not afraid of new ideas and seeing as how it doesn't cost a whole lot to sign on (FREE) I signed up. You might want to take another look and read the small print. PPP I consider it a stacked hand if I have nothing to lose. Life is grand RT... |
