TheDivaLady - I agree with you, and I wrote a fairly lengthy post about this earlier in the thread.

To those who are willing to give it a try - I wish you luck. If you do well out of it, then that's great. However, what's more important to you - someone who visits once, hears the ad, generates you some money and leaves because they hate the ad? Or someone who visits, doesn't hear any ad and therefore doesn't generate you any money, but chooses to stay because they like your site?

Is anyone planning to ask their readers what they think of the ads?

Don't kill your site just to get some money.

I know what you're saying Ben that's why I said here and other places that different types of sites are better then others for this type of advertising. There are THOUSANDS of websites with mainly first time traffic for information through search engines. Those will do very well in my opinion.

I wouldn't recommend throwing it on a forum or a blog depending again on your readership. Same applies for say kontera; many make great money with it however if I were to throw it on this forum I bet it would kill the forum yet for other sites they thrive with it. What's good for you may not be good for another; what's good for me may not be good for you however it is a viable marketing opportunity and like all cases some are in better positions then others to capitalize on it.

We're also clouded as web masters who I imagine travel to many webmaster related sites; those aren't necessarily best for this either however there are hundreds of thousands of websites that I believe will do extraordinary with this type of technology if the program does get off the ground successfully.

Well, PPP hasn't been playing on my site just yet. The blog there says they will have a slow ramp up! Also, have seen a few questions here that were addressed there. the ads play for 5 seconds, you get payed after 3. You only hear one , then no more for 3 minutes, then only if you refresh or navigate to another site that has it installed, if this is within the three minutes, then no ad. You get payed even if the sound is off, but don't get payed if java is off. Some of you with large amounts of traffic could get some real money! I don't know if ADBLOCK will block it, or if it does, do you still get payed?

Not all the ads are being served right now to best of my knowledge meaning they have excess supply of websites currently. I do think that will fill up. I believe what you mentioned above to be the way it is. I think this is best for large information sites. Like someone looking up how to cure something or whatnot won't care. Someone going to a personal blog would be offended / turned off maybe.

The real power is the affiliate network. You get 5% but just depends on how big your pie is!

what if your blog is not themed around just one specific niche? Can you still use this program?

You can definitely still use it you'd just expect a more general type ad as your content would be harder to classify I assume.

It's official; I'm seeing ads played and commissions in my account . Supposedly they are only still running 100,000 a day... Imagine when full volume. Now I just have to see the first cheque but either way from what I can see this will definitely give adsense a run for it's money on monthly income. .
