People in general don't like ads and don't like webpages with audio, so I'm going to guess that the combination of the two is going to be rather a failure. Really, maybe we should come up with audio pop-up ads, because I don't think we're leveraging enough user dislike here.

It's true that most don't like ads. However, ( I love these HOWEVERS ) there are ads on everything. It's just a way of life. Turn your TV on. Rent a movie video. Look in your mail box. Commercials are everywhere.

Robert, as for the "PayPerPlay", I see one real problem that may arise. Abuse!

If the audio comes on when the site loads as they say then it's not going to take to long for some to hire a service that claims they will furnish 10,000 - 20,000, or more, real visitors to your site.

Those thousands of visitors are more than likely holed up in some 3rd world country making peanuts to tag your site.

The site loads and then BAM there's the audio. A 5 second blurb. If they don't address that sort of abuse then they are in for a real problem.

Personally, I think that the PPP is a good thing to come down the web highway. Sometime new is good.

One thing I've noticed about the net. If there is a way to steal something then you can bet it will get stolen.

Life is grand
RT...

Well said RT,

Not sure how they will address those issues but I'm sure something will be done. Anything new is always met with opposition. Adsense has many critics and still does yet it's also a proven money maker online.

This is still in it's pre-launch but as something new I'm willing to take the time to investigate it now and spread the word. How will it succeed in the future? No idea, do I want to be there to see how it plays out? Definitely!

When I checked my account with them this afternoon I had noticed something I had never occurred to me.

Not only did they have my home page listed as a valid URL, but each page of our blog that a visitor had gone to as well...........catagory listings............individual posts which were referenced directly....and so on.

So, my one URL had generated 20 individual active URL's for this.

Interesting. I just added our replacement blog following the move to a self hosted site, so it will be interesting if that happens for those individual URL's as well.

Personally, I rarely am on the internet with the audio on, ....most people I know are the same, especially if in the work place, so I wonder if that can be tracked at all and if yes, if that will bring the prices down?

Any thoughts!

Well I my speakers are sometimes left on. I simply forget to turn them off. And they are on full blast sometimes.

And I can guarantee you that if I go to a site and nearly gets a heart attack because of the sound. I will never visit again.

The difference between adsense and ppp is that adsense doesn't give you a heart attack if your speakers are on to loud.

I think this service will start on feb 208. as i try to register, i've seen an agreement below that their program will start on febrauary 2008 so that's mean that they will still not pay for this month and the previous month insted in feb 2008.

Basically it won't start working in February. Now however is the time to signup, get a feel and tell others about it then wait to see what happens in February. This isn't for everyone but definitely has some great potential.

Personally I think this is an extremely bad idea.

The logic behind "people don't click away from your site" (when comparing the audio ad to a text ad) is fundamentally flawed. Audio that autoplays is a MAJOR turn-off. Yes, the person hears the audio - but do they come back to your site in future?

The reason why a lot of people are signing up is because the site promises to make you loads of money. Who is going to say no to that?!

Just look at how saturated the Make Money Online niche is in the blogosphere. People see the likes of John Chow et al making thousands of dollars a month and they think they can do the same really easily. Problem is, they are jumping into something where there is already huge competition.

There are many reasons why people do not like to have audio automatically played without pressing a play button:

1. The person may already be playing music in their media play
