All in all I think that if people arrive on a site using this method they will quickly hit the back button never to return again.
That's my 2 cents.
Yes, many people I've talked to have had the same feeling. Things like this are very annoying and even scares people when some sort of sounds come through their speakers all of a sudden.

I find that people who like things tend to say nothing and those who strongly dislike tend to voice their opinions more. (I do the same).

I've said many times that this is IDEAL for information sites that get mainly search engine traffic and one time visitors. They will have high paying ads and won't loose customers. If I'm reading up on an illness I think I may have and verifying I"m not going to care about that 5 second ad. If it's on my favorite blog I visit daily it would get annoying to some extent I'm sure.

Is this idea for a blog with a loyal readership; no.

There are thousands of opportunities online and they all can't fit everyone.

What is good for you isn't necessarily good for someone else.

That being said who knows if this will fly or not but only time will tell and for some people if it does work out I can see them making big money.

I have started to encounter a few sites with these ads via Entrecard. Problem is, I usually have a lot of tabs open, and I have yet to figure out which sites are playing the ad!

I wonder, what do they do with people not having the sound on. The ad will play anyway, and the advertiser has to pay for it. But no one hears it....

That can't be a GREAT thing. I hope they are just sorting stuff out and not going under. However NOT accepting new members isn't a good sign I don't think.

I always thought that as well. I wonder if there are stats to that show % of internet users who have sound, enabled, with speakers

I've had absolutely zilch so far. It's bad news they're not accepting new members because it gives me the impression they're struggling to convert people from established money makers like adsense.

This could turn out to be the biggest scam of 2008.

Has anyone actually made any money off of this? What type of organization has the troubles they have indicated they have had at their start up? So much for going live Feb 1st (or what ever date it was supposed to be).

I haven't had any changes in my reports from them since the 1st few days when I had 12 ads for all of $0.05. And this with, according to their report, all of 7,000 hits from 316 pages, again according to their reports for my account.

Yes, I have had conflicting reports on Adsense activity every once in a while, e.g. MyBlogLog would indicate some Adsense hits on a day when Adsense indicated no hits. However, at least Adsense is trustable as it is by a reputable company (Google) who everyone already knows an uses. And, last week I received my first check, yea!

With these fine gentlemen of this PPP company, I have never heard of them or their company and so far, their performance has been, shall we say.......much less than impressive.

Stay tuned.
