Default Google Adsense Refuses to Pay?

Someone left a comment on my blog that kind of concerned me:

Quote:
Welcome to the club. What you will soon learn the hard way about blogging is that as soon as you make enough money from Adsense Google will cut you off and claim that you are clicking your own links. All the money you made will stay with Google and your be forced spend quality time with your new drinking problem. This recently happened to me and I have been drinking since. I suggest Young’s Double Chocolate Stout for your extra nervous depressing days.
Is this a common occurrence? Has anyone else experienced this, or do those of you that make good money from Google Adsense actually get your monthly cheques?

The only people who get cut off by Google are those who try to defeat Google's TOS. I have had Adsense on all of my websites (17) and blogs (9) for over 2 years and receive my money every month without fail.

Don't believe everything you're told they're only trying to cut the competition!

I've seen a lot of these sob tales, don't pay any attention to it. Google wouldn't have got to be number one in the search engines if it screwed people.

Not only that but often people DO go against the TOS and get burnt than complain saying google is unfair... I wouldn't worry about it.

That person is just bitter. I would take it with a pinch of salt.

I wouldn't say it rocks it definitely has it's pitfalls. I don't have a fantastic CTR by any stretch of the imagination, I think people are becoming immune to seeing them. Think about it when you go a site, do you even notice the ads?

I probably haven't clicked an ad in over 3 years... Seriously.

The best niches are ones that aren't webmaster related and people searching to satisfy a need. I will probably take adsense down from the forum header soon as it has generated 2-3 clicks total in a few days...

Also the more impressions the lower CPM you have so... You want a bit of traffic with high click tenancies

A lot of traffic with high click tendencies is hard to come by. Ive found that low traffic often generates more clicks but don't take that too seriously because otherwise you'll lose valuable readers.

Best bet is small information sites that DON'T look spammy. Get 5-25 uniques a day from targeted search engine results... Those are clickers. Oh and make sure the niche has NOTHING to do with the web. In fact the less likely the searchers are to be web savvy the better.
