Adsense is a changing game.

The trick with adsense is, of course to have traffic that isn't coming from google. You have to give people a reason to link to your site, and get a good following going. You'll get more clicks out of that type of audience than you will from SE traffic. The reasoning (in my opinion) is because people from search engines are searching for your content, and not searching for ways off of your site.

SE traffic is targeted traffic if you're selling a product, or an affiliate. But as far as adsense goes, the trick is to get word of mouth and linked in traffic.

Just my two cents from experience.

I blog about environmental consulting, mold, asbestos, hazardous material remdiation and investigation. It's what I do for a living so I feel that I'm on pretty safe ground to write about it. And know my blog isn' a feeder site for MESOTHILIOMA! I've spent the last few days reading through as similar blogs as I could find (I googled Mold Blog and some variants).

About 90% of the information out there is either bad, spam, or psuedo advertisements for really questionable products. I have a fear that if use a contextual advertising program like ad-sense my site will wind up linking to some snake oil site, selling god knows what.

Most nights I can go to bed wth a pretty clean concious. I'd like to keep it that way if possible

When using something like AD-SENSE is it possible to ban particular ads?

MyClickBankAds is a pretty good way to to put content specific ads on a site.

I use it on a couple of my sites My Futures Blog is one of them. About 1/2 down the right hand column you will see an ad block, much like Google Adsense uses.

The ads are specific to my blog theme. To see another example try this one.
Colon Care Tips.

The program is free to join and so far I've made a couple of bucks. You get paid the going rate from the Click Bank Advertiser. Some pay 50% and others pay 75%. All you need is a free ClickBank Account.

A NOTE: I don't use Google's Adsence because, for what ever reason, they do not like my sites. I don't know what the problem is but Oh-Well.

Thanks RTSurvivor. I am still pondering over advertisements. Targetted may be the way to go. Given the crap masquerading as information in mold-related blogs , I'm very wary of dilutiing my message.

How have you done with FOREX by the way?

Targeting ads on a web site is actually a must these days. It really isn't that difficult hawaiimold.

If you think about it for a second it would be like thumbing through a racing magazine and a bunch of ads for baby cribs covered the pages. Not to brite!

I target investors and "Treasure Hunters " on my FOREX and futures trading blog. My other site has ads geared towards cancer issues. That only makes sense to me.

BTW. I did quite well when I did trade. I'm not trading now. I'm still having a few recovery problems with my bout with the ruptured brain aneurysm. I may get back into trading later but for now I'm content with just talking about it.

Life is grand

Remember to use section targeting on your sites, that helps a bit.

Also, with google services you can target your ads served by hand. Not a bad idea, though it is tough to convert stuff for me.
