Have superb content that builds natural back links and a readership. That WILL work.

Have an RSS feed of blog posts and submit it to the RSS directories, and the posts wil get indexed. An alternative is to use social media. |

Hi kaymeis, do you have a gmail? If not, you should get one today. It gives you premier access to all of google's top tools like analytics and webmaster tools. With webmaster tools, you can manually fetch a google bot - meaning, you can type in a particular site or page you have that isn't yet indexed, and within several minutes a bot will index it for you! There's a similar tool for the yahoo search engine: Yahoo! Site Explorer. Search webmaster and you'll find it. What's even easier is pinging your RSS feed at pingomatic.

I don't think it's about the individual posts, I think it's about the blog. When I created my first blog, it took Google about four weeks to reliably acknowledge that it was there, and since then it appears to me that every single post gets indexed within hours. (I posted four hours ago to my second, PR N/A but well-established, blog, and the post is already easily findable in Google.) So, create a good blog, with 'real' original content, and you should get indexed. If it's not a good blog, fancy pinging or indexing or submitting tricks are probably a waste of time. |

Getting indexed should not be a problem. Like loungeowl mentioned, you can use Google Webmaster Tools and submit your blog there. All you need is a Google Accounts. Even without Google Webmaster Tool, you can check what the search engines have indexed. Type the following into any search engine. Code: site:domain.com
