I have been a member of PayPerPost since 2007. I made $146.72 in the first three months of using it. I was also a member of PayU2Blog and made a whopping $815. During that time, the whole "You shouldn't be getting paid for advertising" thing started and Google started devaluing sites - Including mine. I lost out on so much money because of Google's decision, but you know what? It was for the better. You are getting paid to spam the internet, and that is the truth. Izea's PayPerPost program used to be great. They had a GREAT forum to back up the greatness of the program. However, they started to get very lazy about it, offers becoming hideously ridiculous, loan after loan links. SponsoredTweets saved them for awhile, but they started accepting just about anything too, along with incentives to their ADVERTISERS. Celebrities just get all the fun these days when it comes to online marketing. We're told only to select offers that we're REALLY interested, while they get to act and PRETEND their interested because they're professionals who have at least 5,000 SPAM accounts following them. Yeah...

How did you loose the money then when you stopped earning money thinking that Google doesn't like you to earn money?

Yeah, looking at PayPerPost, I'd say that it would be pretty much Google's duty to seriously downgrade any participants. Blogs are blogs and advertising is advertising, and the second would pretty much always be less valuable than the first. Good for you for not doing it any more. |

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I've been toying with the idea for some time but now I am reevaluating the value in it. Plus, I agree with ChickenFreak. Although the two seems to overlap, a line must be drawn to prevent a blog from becoming just an advertising venue.

Pay Per Post probably has the worst reputation of all the paid content sites. I still believe paid content is okay if done right. If you review a product that you really believe in and relates to the content of your site it's not the worst thing.

Years ago, I used to not mind pay-per-posts. I never did them myself, but I know a lot of bloggers did. They were usually product or site review type posts, gave a lot of info, etc, and a lot of the quality PPP sites required you have 3-5 posts in between paid posts, so it kept bloggers in check some. But then they became just like everything else and were nothing but spam. I was happy to see Google seriously crack down on them, although I felt bad for those who were doing the occasional posts to make a little legitimate money on the site.
