If you are dealing with completely different niches or markets two blogs make sense, if the themes are closely related stick with one blog.

Definitely depends on the type. What kind of affiliate site are you hoping to start? 5-page niche minsite? Blog that reviews several products? Single landing page setup?

Personally, I would start one and then when that's a bit more established I would start another.

Until you know how successful you can make it, you should probably only start with one instead of spreading yourself thin and giving up because the results aren't what you want.
