Re: Build a blog to make money?
I think at some level anyone who posts adds on their site are blogging to make money.
Doesn't mean thats wrong but if your core driver is to blog competitively as a business then I think alot of people underestimate the financial investment majority of pro bloggers actually put into their blogs to keep them earning money.
One particular example is a renown affiliate marketeer will generate 1 sale per every 9 -15 affiliate clicks, I.E clicks on adds or links. There will be another 100 page views before getting a click. Meaning they have to get approx 900-1500 hits to get 1 sale. The advertising budget she used in one example was approx $500 per month generating a fair proportion of those hits. Rest were organic.
Most people wont put any financial investment into their sites as we all tend to have this belief of build it and they will come. And to be fair several of the renown blog successes have done this.
Personally i am going to buy traffic and do everything else that everyone else is doing.
