At what stage would a blogger consider monitzeing worthwhile? I am not 100% that I will monitize my current blog - but I am getting a lot of traffic and I'm wondering at what stage I might want to consider it. 100 hits a day? 500 hits a day? 5000 hits a day? What does this equate to in monetary value?

It changes but last month i got 3996 visits on one site with about 120 clicks. But those clicks are on my amazon and commision junction acount so I don't get paid per click. I get paid when they purchase. Each month I look at what people click and increase those ads and ads that don't perform are removed. I can see that I will make money but its just not a significant amount right now. I did do one post about a subject based on a product that I use and like. It hasn't gotten that many views but the click through rate is 10% which is crazy compared to my total click through rate. Sorry I don't have good answers for you but I am still to new to be able to monetize very well. Good luck |

That's not that unusual for a "pre-sell" page, when you've actually used the product, and are therefor able to give an honest and informed review of the product The high clickthrough rate is directly related to the "trust" your visitors feel when they are reading your post |

If your blog has been indexed by google for at least 1 month, then 100 hits a day is sufficient I'd try a single large rectangle adsense block positioned below the header and above the first post Depending on your click rate, you can then decide whether to add some additional form of advertising You should be looking for 2% to 3% average adsense click rate |

Traffic is everything is it not? In order to get to the maximum benefits! Some advertisers require a minimum of 50,000 page views a month! That's quite alot for a new blogger like me. I'm two weeks in and average about 225 - most refered from twitter and facebook. I want to grow as fast as possible. That being said - check it out and keep on visiting as I will do for you! If you're trying to make money with adsense ads, then search engine traffic is what you want - because these visitors are likely to click the adsense in the first place, and secondly perform a "desired action" when they land on the adwords advertisers landing page Also if you are trying to make affiliate sales from your site's pages, search engine traffic is more likely to buy products, rather than traffic from social network sites The "generated" traffic such as exit popups, etc. are virtually worthless |

when you hit 1000 traffic a day that is Good time to start.on that level I am sure your visitor know, how valuable is your content, and they should know all that good thing happen come not from something free.

There is no right or wrong answer to this, it's all on the blog owner. And also, it depends on how you are going to monetize. For instance, PPC ads will always be good if you're getting a lot of traffic, especially search engine traffic. Affiliate links are better for very targeted niche and it doesn't matter how much traffic you get, if it's really targeted, your visitors will probably click through to purchase. CPM ads will be great if you're just getting lots of impressions to your site in general. Though, most CPM companies require you to get X amount of traffic per month and have a site longer than X time. But we'll put it this way, without traffic, there's no money. |
