Default Adsense on new site - Concern

Hey everyone. I have been designing a new site. I got the adsense codes from my blog that I have had for a year and have pasted them into my files.

The problems is I'm not done with my website and I've been trying to work on positioning the ads (it's not easy) Then today my adsense account said I have 500+ page impressions just for today. Does it count every time I preview my html files on my own computer? Can I get in trouble with google for this?

Thanks.

Apparently it is counting previews. That isn't good, but I doubt that Google will complain, especially if you explain the situation.

Does anyone know how I can keep working on my pages without worrying about this or getting the dishonest page impressions? Should I wait to insert the adsense code for the last thing I do? (I'm just writing my own html files and using dreamweaver at times)

why don't you simply change the adsense id to a false one - so it doesn't register on your account - or maybe leave the id blank

I agree with stephen, just throw in a dummy code in the mean time and switch it back once you're finished.

You also probably shouldn't be using exactly the same code from one website on another. The page impressions will all show up as being tracked under the same box, which isn't right. You should make a new box for each site.

you can use a dummy number like "adsensecodetest" it won't show up in your stats. Google won't mind as long as you aren't clicking on your own ads. They will ban you from adsense very quickly for that

i also realised pretty early on that most of my page impressions came from little old me. fortunately i felt honest enough not to click on my own ads and in time low and behold other people will actually click on them!

go to adsense help, they will gove you some scripts which can be used to test the ads, it will not be considered as a click and you will not get banned even if you click the ads accidently...
