I now believe that blogs have lost their traction with google - due to the very low quality and very high abandonment rate of the majority of blog sites It may very well be that the appeal of blogs - the ability to get online in minutes and turn out drivel will be their undoing I only used to make websites - then I switched to only making blog sites - now I'm going to mostly make websites again for small markets where 10 to 20 pages will get the job done - and use blog sites where large numbers of pages are required to fully cover the market There is static website building software that is easier to use than a blog - but it's also true that the majority of site builders are more difficult If you just want to fill up the Internet with unfocussed drivel then a blog is best If you want to target a niche market and make money then a 10 to 30 page tightly focussed static website is best |

I don't think a blog or a static website are better than the other. I also think you can accomplish anything you want with a blog software such as WordPress and you are limited to what can be developed with a static website. Therefore, for someone who wishes to only learn one platform I would say WordPress is the best option.

I can assure you that no wordpress blog, no matter how many SEO plugins you install, can compete with a siloed static website built with either a "LSI" or "low competition" keyword set Nobody has been able to tweak a blog site to avoid "theme bleed" - which is exactly what siloing is all about Re. "you are limited to what can be developed with a static website" - you've got it backwards - it's the other way around - you're limited what you can do with a blog site I wouldn't advise anybody to use "standard" web design software like dreamweaver - if you go the static site route you should buy a specialised web design package such as silomatic or xsitepro |

You're taking a big risk selling text link ads Even I won't risk it anymore - google will disappear your site if they find out |
