Angry Adsense account disabled

Got a email today about my adsense disabled, why? I sent out over 1000 emails for my customers to check out the new web site and now bam no ad sense. Maybe that was a bad idea? Has anyone ever had account reinstated?

I dont know how much you earned from it. But as far as I am concerned AdSense is not such a loss. It does not pay good and it looks awful.

I would say this is an opportunity to try something else

Perhaps one of the email recipients reported you to Google for spam.

Didnt you read Google Adsense's terms that you should not send email asking people to visit your site. That's considered spamming. Do you know when it will get reinstated?

I don't believe that - but if that's true then Google are getting too big for their boots!

What's if got to do with Google how you get people to visit your site?

You can't solicit adsense clicks - but Google can't dictate how you promote your site

I don't think so. With some optimization, AdSense can work out wonders!

Hi Stephen
I was trying to search for the policy. Here is it.
Google AdSense Program Policies at www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=48182

I highlight the paragraph below:
Traffic Sources
Google ads may not be placed on pages receiving traffic from certain sources. For example, publishers may not participate in paid-to-click programs, send unwanted emails or display ads as the result of the action of any software application. Also, publishers using online advertising must ensure that their pages comply with Google's Landing Page Quality Guidelines.
Learn more To ensure a positive experience for Internet users and Google advertisers, sites displaying Google ads may not:
  • Use third-party services that generate clicks or impressions such as paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, autosurf and click-exchange programs.
  • Be promoted through unsolicited mass emails or unwanted advertisements on third-party websites.
Google's thinking maybe that if you direct traffic to a landing page which contains Adsense adverts, you are trying to inflate your CPM, even though your CPC may remain the same. Therefore it is disallowed.

I don't think it is illegal to encourage people to visit your site, but it is illegal encouraging people to click on your ads . Or am I mistaken ?

Thanks guys , Just because i self promote my site to my customers that need support
does not mean they can ban me, I think it's bullshit, excuse my french, and im glad im rid of the google adsense thing . What is the sense of creating a mailing list if you can not
direct mail your clients about updates to your site. Google sucks but we all use them
