Google is the dominant search engine in many continents. Therefore, it does not suck. There must be a reason why your Adsense account is disabled. If you are not willing to work with Google to find out why, then don't complain about it. No one here knows the details on exactly what you've done. The information that you've provided is far from sufficient for any of us to properly analyze the situation. There are tens of thousands of websites out there utilizing Adsense and email marketing. The question you should really ask yourself is why you are banned and they aren't. And you can only get the answer from contacting Google directly. |

The person who started the thread did say "emailed my customers" - not "emailed some spam" so I take it he did nothing wrong - just updated his customers about something regarding his website I'm not a fan of google, and I don't think they can even justify banning somebody for spamming in order to get people to a site - that's not click fraud - i.e. unless he sent out emails saying "please visit my site and click some of the google ads" then google's advertisers are not being fleeced - which is all google should be concerned with I don't like the way google have changed over the past few years - they have become Internet police - making people add terms of use to sites, charging advertisers more if google does not think the site looks pretty, etc. |

That's quite unfortunate and I hope it doesn't happen to me. I am very careful about how I market and promote my websites that contain adsense. I do think it's a bit unfair how they don't really give you the chance to defend yourself though. They just disable your account and delete you. I have heard that people have got their account re-instated by sending polite emails to the Adsense team.

Sending emails about your site to your best friends is good. But sending 1000 emails is a different thing. Unless all of them are your good friends, someone will feel spammed and report you to Google, which can get you banned. Btw, Adsense only works well with high traffic. That's why some of you say it's a poor money maker and some say it's great. If your traffic is low, you should not use Adsense since it will only slow down your site. Cheers |

Hi. I saw this thread and thought I'd post my two cents on it. You have to be really careful with Adsense because they have rules that you can't break. The Adsense rules are very strict. Another thing they do not like is ads that look like their ads that come close to their ads. You must be very clear that the ads are only Adsense ads, because people could get mixed up and think they belong to Adsense if they look like their ads in size and color, etc. I saw a website that said "click these ads" once (referring to their Adsense ads). I also saw a site once that said that on another page. They said "You can make us money - please click on our ads." These were other people's ads. I found out a lot later that this kind of thing is not allowed. I also found out later that you could not ask people to click Adsense ads - it is totally against the Adsense rules. I think the reason is that they figure the people that just click are not going to be real customers. They will just click and then leave. A good idea is to read every rule first about Adsense because once they ban you, then they ban you for good. |

This reminds me when I first got started with adsense... My account also got disabled, it got me so fustrated at some point which I didn't even know why google disable my account. ![]() Soon after I talked to one of my friends who's account also got disabled, he mentioned that google will never enable your account back if you are caught promoting your websites for adsense clicks, they are very particular about the way you promote your website. Avoid using the traffic exchanges too because google doesn't like it. However if you still want to have adsense on your websites, you will need to register with a different name, such as company name or who's ever name you want it to be, in other words open a new account. Google wants to protect their advertisers but at the same time they also want quality users and traffic, no one generally go to sites to click on ads, therefore if your click through rates are too high, then your accounts may also be risking termination if the traffic are always coming from the same sources. I suggest to read all the google adsense terms, and just follow them with the flow. You can tweak your ads with colors and the backgrounds, but just be cautious not to change its format else they will terminate your account too... |
