I'm just looking for a bit of advice. So this week I got a couple of different emails offering some sort of compensation for text link ads on my blog. I'd probably be happy that I've reached a point where advertisers are reaching out to me randomly, but I'm not really pulling in huge traffic numbers, so I'm wary. These emails are really general and don't include a link to a site/product they would like to advertise. Think I should just shrug them off as possible spam, or inquire further? |

If you respect the net, respect your site and want to be in the game long term... Don't take any of them. It won't work out well and it won't be worth the money. Just bad news in my opinion.

I don't think there's any harm in accepting paid links if they're related to your site... as long as that self-proclaimed beacon of web purity Google doesn't find out. That said I find myself accepting very few paid links at the moment. Those I do take are from Text Link Ads and happen automatically anyway.

Text link ads are usually not very high paying. In addition watch who you are linking to. You don't want to loose PR linking to a low PR or spam site.

I'm waiting to hit 90 days old on my new blog, then I'll try out socialspark.com for various ads. I'll also be at IZEAFest this October in SeaWorld Orlando, anyone else from bloggeries signed up yet?

Thanks for the advice, sorry it took me a while to reply (hectic week). I decided not to reply to any of the offers. I'll just stick to what I'm doing now until I can grow my audience and attract more reputable advertising offers.

I would say take them, but dont enter into long term partnerships. Always try and get 1 yr deals and not permanent ones. Atleast reply to them and find out what they want and what kind of ads they want to put. Don't agree to put absolutely offtopic ads like casino etc. It wont hurt you to just reply and find out more. These guys will pay you upfront, so you dont loose. And PR doesn't affect SERP. The only value it has is that if u have high pr u can sell textlinkads. |

t its a nice feeling that people are contacting you directly for text links on your site. But like other people on this forum, I would not take them. But def reply to them and let them know if you are putting there ads on or not and give a reason why. There is nothing worse then emailing someone and never getting a reply. |
