For Those Who Use Adsense

It's telling me I need to make sure my privacy policy is up to date by April 1st. I went and looked for the information and it said I needed to post on my blog certain information about the fact that cookies may be dropped etc. My question is, where do I put this information? Could I put it in my first blog post that has an explanation of my blog in general maybe?

I heard about it being mandatory a while ago. I got a free privacy policy from somewhere andmade it on of my 'pages' on my veterinary blog and swapped the site names. You can take that if you want.

is it only for new blogs or even for old blogs? coz i haven't made one for my blogs. what will be the effect if google will not find this on my blogs?

I have received that e-mail from Google AdSense, but assumed that the Privacy Policy they're talking about is the one from Blogger (or blogspot.com, where I have my blog).

So I did nothing.

Am I wrong?

My understanding is that the new privacy policy has to go on any blog that has adsense, whether it's blogger or any other platform.

hmmmm what happens if you don't put a privacy policy? I can't see everyone reading that email let alone acting on it...?

I totally agree, but I guess it's a breach of their terms and conditions and could be grounds for banning you from adsense. I've heard that if you're banned, it can be tricky to get your account back, but not sure how true that is.

I think it's also a matter of whether Google actually check to see that everyone is complying with their new wording for a privacy policy. If they don't find you, and nobody points it out, you'd probably get away without a privacy policy. But if you're earning a decent income from adsense, do you want to risk losing it, for the sake of sticking a few words on your site.
