Content and look are what makes a blog interesting, in my opinion. Stats do not.

I agree. I don't pay much attention to the stats if people show them. To me, that seems kind of like you're showing off. I'd rather see good content. If you're going to show things in your sidebars, show your readers, and other blogs that you read. Those are the kinds of things I like to see.

The only thing that I keep in my blog sidebar is a unique visitor counter widget from SiteMeter. Since I keep it belor my advertising section I feel that shows other advertisers the value of advertising on my blog. That is the only stat I show and the only reason I show it. If users want to see more statistics they can click on that widget to see more metrics, graphs, etc, but I don't want them on the main page slowing my blog load time.

Like Sadie's comment above, what attracts me to a blog is its look, and content---now MY blog I like to think has a decent enough look, but --(sigh) my content kinda sucks, although from time to time I put up a fairly decent posting, or like to think so. (lol)

Your blog is good, I think you just need a slightly more focused theme. It helps if you have something specific to write about. When all else fails you can always write response to other people's blog posts. This is a great way to build quality content and break through writer's block at the same time.

Yeah, responses to other people's news posts etc are also good because sometimes they'll give you a backlink on their blog, so you will be boosting your blogs PR at the same time.

I added the meta script. I never saw anything in blogspot to add keywords, so I just made an HTML/JAVA gadget with all that information. I guess a bot will now follow me and take in all that info, eventually. (Google is so slow eh?)
