How are you doing with AdSense?

I'm curious to find out peoples experience with AdSense.

I have a blog that has been up for a year. I started off really good, writing an article a day for about 3 months and then it died. To date it has made me around $120.00.

I recently started up another site (in sig), which is not a blog. So far the results have been much better. I've even had a couple of $8 days which is a record for me.

So how are you doing?

I'm not doing so hot. I've never pushed it and well on this site for it to be anything it would have to be much more IN YOUR FACE. Something I"m not ready to do.

That being said on one of my sites it makes about ~1$ a day which is "ok" as the site is already paid back what I did earn and it's just 1 more tiny stream leading into the lake I call my online income .

8$ a day is a slice of alright. What kind of traffic to get that? (Obviously niche plays a major role).

P.S What's up w/ that blogs for sale site? Any blogs I could list here?

Hey Rob!

So you're not pushing to monetize this site? Is that just a personal feeling or you're not ready (time-wise) to start doing that?

Well, I'm not making $8 a day... I did get $8 2 times, $7 another, $4 a couple...

It's been less than a month since my new site has been up. On average I"m getting 300 visitors a day.

I decided to shut down the blog site... after doing some research I found that folks were more interested in using site point for selling their blogs. I had to go in a different direction.

Oh and the niche I would say are "tech-heads", like myself. Sharing their desktop images. Although, techies aren't the only people I see that enjoy the topic...

I'd love to see you over there. Windows, Linux, Mac guy?

Sitepoint.com is a place now for sure but I do believe it costs money and well we're ranking for the terms so hopefull it will start to shift here over time. What are you doing with the site? Could you redirect to our blogs for sale category? That would be awesome.

I know what you mean by fluctuations. Sometimes a site will make $0.30 a day other times $3.00 (at least here). I do find if I write about debt, credit cards etc... More $$$. Flip side is if you're starting out they are more comp terms so everything MAY even out.

What's the latest thing you were talking about? Also I"m a PC guy for now... I am getting sick of the security cough... lack of security!

I'm a big geek, so I'm a member of a lot of techie forums. A common thread that pops up on a monthly basis is: "Show off your desktop". It's pretty cool because there are limitless configs and they tend to inspire you to make your desktop look its best. Some people even link to the wallpaper which is useful if you're looking for some new ideas.

We're actually lacking Windows people right now... majority are Linux. I'd love to have you over there.

I've been blogging a month and a day. I've made $0.11. WooHoo!!

I've been blogging for a year and I started to add ads on my blog Feb. 2008..

I am not earning that much.. my earnings ranges from $.50-$1.. I've got my first payment last May and now I already have $79..

On my blog, I found the space Adsense takes up is not worth the revenue, so I deleted it after a couple of months. The more as I had a problem with some of the ads it brought up, which are not conform with some of my ethics. (I hate it when I blog about hunger in Afghanistan, and Adsense brings up an ad "Meet Afghan Women") So I had to exclude a lot of ads, and it took up quite a bit of my time.

After I stopped running Adsense, to my surprise, some companies contacted me for direct sponsoring. I now feature a few small direct sponsoring ads, which at least allows me to recuperate on the tools I needed for blogging.. Less space than Adsense, and a bit more revenue. So I am happy.

Our site has been up for 11 months now and it took 4 months to get our first Adsense check.

We have now been receiving them monthly since the spring (which coincidently or not was when our site went from GPR 0 to GPR 3) including already met the minimum for one next month.

I will say, however, that site sponsors do pay more.

So far, only one affiliate has been worth while.

Yes, I still publish one new article per day.
