I just did my first set and man....I sounded like a bowl of rice crispies. I did 14 push ups though. Not bad for a 30 year old guy that ways 280lbs. So, I understand that I am suppose to do 5 sets of these, right?

Default Doing dips now

Hey guys. Glad to see you are still at it. I'm doing dips now when I swim, at the corner of the pool. I face the corner and go down to 90 degrees at my elbows. My score was 12 dips for my test.

Default Dips Week 1 Day 1

I'm thinking that I will follow the 100 pushups workout program. I forgot to look at it before I got in the pool today, so I just made up the first workout. I did 5 sets of 10 each. It felt like a good challenge. I'll take a look at the pushup paper before I do it next time.

14 is great 1st time. I was 208 and I did 7 ... on my knees!

Now I can do 35 at a tie. I can also do them with hands really close and I'm down to 180 so things are good. Just keep at it and if you for whatever reason have to stop; don't totally stop just keep doing whatever works. That's what I've been doing.

I like the idea of dips. I got a heavy bar and have been doing 21 bicep curls. 7 full, 7 just top , 7 just bottom. Also doing some dips the old leaning back technique.

The real deal is pullups lol. I am good for 2 MAX as of now. I'd like to do more. Any ingenious ideas to do pullups without buying or modifying anything? I was doing them on a soccer net near my work.

Default Curls, pull ups and dips

I do curls every Wed. and Friday during my 60 min total body weight training. Basically it is 6 minutes of curls with variation, like you are doing Rob, plus slow and fast variations.

I wanted to do pull ups, but couldn't find a bar or a place to do them.

I'm really liking the dips. Had another great workout yesterday. Did it in the evening after work, in our pool. My sets were as follows: 10, 10, 10, 10, 15 = 55 total triceps dips. Pretty encouraging to be already making good gains over my initial max test of 12 dips.

See my blog post for more Triceps Dips Week 1 Day 2
