When I was bodybuilding (don't get impressed, just low level regional competitions, back a good many years), I did train 6 days a week. But yes, it was a rotation of different workouts for different muscles groups. Not just different areas of the body, but divided into workouts for the large and small muscles in those areas too...

As for the 100 Pushup Challenge status report -
I got through Week 1 Day 2 last night (though it was after midnight again, by the time I got to it, despite Rob's nagging )... and can certainly feel it today! Not quite sure how I'm going to manage to get through Week 1 Day 3, if it leaves you big macho men with the panting wobblies...
I'm no macho man! More like a nacho-man who for the last 2-3 years did nothing but play on the computer and eat take-out.

Can't stress enough how much easier it is in the mid day when you feel like you have energy. Often times I'm too lazy to shower or brush teeth if it's past midnight; let alone do the push up program. If you sleep well night before and do it mid day / early day you should have no problem. Also remember I'm lifting more weight!

Nacho man! love it!

Yeah, I know you're right, really do have to try to nail that whole 'sleep' thing... and take a break at noon-ish to do the self-improvement grunting. (You are so encouraging: thanks! )

It is so much funner to be doing this with you all at Bloggeries.com and the others at Plurk.com. I was afraid I was going to have to go it alone. My wife is already doing 50 consecutive knee style everyday after her Yoga! She puts me to shame! So she doesn't want to bother with the program.

Thanks Rob and all for your encouragement.

I read about this last week. I love it. It's a great way for us 50+ guys to ease our way back into regular fitness activities. (With homage to the late Jack Palance. )

That is actually better than I did on my initial test. You could join the third column or to easy in the second column.

I'm taking it quite easy to try and rest is much as I can this weekend. I never used to believe it but if you are really tired any physical exertion is just that much worse / unpleasant / difficult.

I did day three week one really tired and it was just a really unpleasant experience.

I am exhausted after completing hundredpushups.com week 3 day one workout. Don't see any instructions about taking another test in the PDF printout I'm following. Printout says depending on test results pick column for week 3. So I went to 25 knowing I could do at least 3 more, quit, calling it level one for today.

Did OK in 3rd column for all but the 5th level. Didn't make it to 25. Only got in 15 and collapsed. Looks like I need to go down to the 2nd column Wed.

I'm doing week 2 day 1 as we speak.

I feel so old saying this but stretch your shoulders first. I just pulled something in my left shoulder doesn't feel good at all.

Also If you start Monday's make sure you REST UP Thursday night as Friday's are KILLER regardless of your column.

Onward and Upward!
