Default Warning webmasters ! Possible new virus

Does anyone know anything about this? It seems to be three days old and I accidentally found it.

The virus infiltrates these files:

* index.php
* index.html
* main.php
* header.php
* footer.php

And sends information to a certain site.

My findings here Warning webmasters ! Check your website for virus attack !

Not sure if this is related to it, but there was a nasty little XSS worm going around about a month ago. It doesn't look the same, but it seems like it could be similar.

I'll keep that in mind. Thought I never had any viruses on any of my sites.

Here's a post I came across this morning and found interesting/relevant: How to use Google Alerts to find out if your site gets hacked It's about setting up a Google Alert to tell you if your blog has been hacked - to include an evil script like @freediver found, for example - but also has an interesting quote from Matt Cutts predicting an increase in this sort of thing as a 'black hat' SEO technique - moving from the shady & unethical to the downright illegal.

I also noticed that AVG has put out a note quoting IDG News:
Quote:
The number of poisoned web sites is increasing. 1 in 1000 web pages are infected with malicious drive-by downloads
Food for thought!
