I love getting comments on my blogs and I only leave comments when I really have something to contribute.

I love comments, though I don't have much. The traffic on my blog is minimal.

Default Not me

I don't get much as far as comments, though I wish I would get more. Maybe my blog isn't "pretty" enough. Some honest reviews and commentary would be nice, but I'm not much of a commentor either so I guess I can't talk.

My niche in between forums. Does anyone else find themselves void of an appropriate niche forum? I'm too spiritual to be part of one crowd and too caught up in every day madness to go with the really holistic crew.

I think the ability to create a dialogue is what separates blogs from newspapers, magazines, and other sources of information. We engage our readers in 2-way communication... when's the last time you held a conversation with People magazine?

You don't have to identify 100% with the niche but if it's relevant to the topic of your blog it would be worth exploring imo.

Default Re: real value of comments

I have seen posts on some blogs start off an avalanche of comments so if it generates debate like that it has got to be a good thing.
