Thanks to both Chell B and the University Kid. I am new at this both as a poster and an admin. I have a lot to learn. I really only used to use the internet as a reference source. I am big on studying subjects. Like animals and archeology. I never really went on forums or blogs or any of those things until recently. I can tell you that my experience kind of put me off. Probably the host refusing to act upset me even more than the original occurance. But here I have met some nice people. I had been getting the idea that the internet was a predatory place.

Oh, it definitely can be. People tend to be worse online than in person with their nastiness, too. But finding the good people out there makes it all worthwhile.

i also have different blogs with different niche and I also get some comments that are not that good..
What i do is I moderate comments so I can easily delete those comments that I don't like..

I know of a situation that has happened over at myspace with verbal abuse and responses, and it's escalated to a point where the abuser stoked this guys fire, and he started firing back - it's been an ongoing war for many years behind the scenes as well, so when the abusee started answering back, the abuser reported him, his account was shut down and than the abuser went and captured his account name and started more abuse.

The abuser is now attempting to shut down another site associated with this guy - I am not quite sure how that works. I spoke to the abusee last night and told him, he should have kept quiet, but he said that it got so bad, he lost his tongue.. just giving more power to the abuser

I will just report such kind of posts to the administrator as abuse.
