Default Fuel price spike again…sigh

Hi
I am from Malaysia. Basically I wrote here mostly directed to Malaysian. However, it won't hurt for you to read it as well and I believe it will be of great help.
I hate to know that fuel price is skyrocketing again. The increase is global, not in Malaysia only. I don’t understand a single damn thing that the government in Malaysia said about spending the fuel wisely.

What the hell! Do you seriously think that we spend our petrol or fuel recklessly when the fuel is so expensive? You think we are driving our cars aimlessly. You got to be kidding. We have tried and are still trying to cut down any unnecessary usage.

With the fuel price increased, everything in the market increases spontaneously. We had tried our best to spend wisely. Now the price hit RM2.70 per liter, how many of us can survive this extremity. The only thing that didn’t increase is the salary and it is not going to increase for sure.

John

Here in the states the government is to blame. Exxon is reportedly only profiting about 30 cents per gallon, yet here in Chicago the cost of a gallon is about $4.22. That means that almost $4.00 of that is being munched up in local, state, and federal taxes.

I paid $3.93 a gallon yesterday and it cost me $84.00 to fill up my SUV. I always wanted an SUV. The very next weekend after I purchased it, the gas prices hit $3.00 a gallon. Now people can't give them away. I am spending close to $400 a month for gas! That is huge chunk out of my budget! Luckily MarketLeverage is moving the office exactly one mile from my house! Maybe I will start riding my bike or walking when we move! Save money, get exercise and help save the earth!

My car has gone from a ~50-60$ fill to ~80-90$ a full tank. 60 Litres!

It's ~$1.28CDN a litre. I put in premium so it's ~$1.35 a litre.

It's nuts but so be it. Cheap fuel is at fault for much of the world's environmental problems to some extent. Increase I say.

Also if prices keep going up shipping containers from China will become very $$$ so maybe more manufacturing jobs will come back. Who knows but it's about time... Nothing like price motivates people to change.

You've also got to include raw costs too. Hmm. This is interesting: according to Wikipedia, a barrel of crude oil makes 19.5 gallons of Gas. The current price of crude oil is 123.35 (according to Bloomberg). That means each gallon of gas, in terms of raw materials, costs $6.325 to make, not including the price of refinement.
