Default Host + Domain VS free hosting

Currently i run my blog with blogger.com ive got my link redirected with the joynic service, but is buying a host + domain really worth it? Currently i dont have enough money to purchase one should this one of my first purchases i make with the money i (hopefully) will make with my blog.

Thanks in advance.

It's tough to say... you CAN make money with a free hosting on blogger, though, I would at least spend the $10 to buy your own domain so when and IF you decide to transfer, you can bring the domain name over with you...

thanks for the advice, but let me explain a bit further.
The blog i created and maintain is a school project, according to my teacher we should be able to make atleast $15 per month from a blog wich we dont invest money in. he adviced us to look for free hosting offers on DP and niche forums, but im not the kind of person who likes asking for free stuff. so my plan is to make some money first for a domain and then lookfurther, perhaps hosting maybe.

@Giamatti: if this is a year-long project, by all means go create some blogs on free hosting first, it will let you learn all you need to know about creating and maintaining successful sites, and then with the money and experience earned from there, go create a final piece of work with paid hosting and domain.

just to remind you though, it will take at least 4-5 months to start earning from a free hosting or even paid hosting, hardly any shortcuts around that.

but in the long-run, proper planning, paid hosting and domain will benefit you, no doubt about that. just make sure your teacher don't steal the money making sites from you, hehe

first of all thanks for the reply, this is school project is for 7 months so i dont have enough time to setup a few blogs for figuring things out (i discussed tis with my teacher, but exams are comming in 8 months so we cant get more time).

second i know it will take time to earn some money with blogs but investing money wich wasnt made by the blog is big NO NO for this project. so i hope i earn just enough money to pay for my host and domain in 4/5 months. if i acomplished that i will take my blog to a new level and try to start earning real money

Then go with free hosting with Blogger until you earn $10 and then buy your own domain and Blogger will host it for you. Once you get your blog fully indexed in search engines and have at least 10 total posts, you can make money from paid review sites and stuff.

Of course, there are PLENTY of different ways of making money online and fro my your blog. Let us know if you need more help...
