Because I'm addicted to the "new posts" feature, I tend to occasionally miss a thread here or there as it gets pushed off the page before I see it or mixed in with template posts that I ignore.
How do you get around the forum? Do you only visit certain boards? Do you only visit when you have a question and place it in the appropriate board? |

I pretty much do the same as your Jessi. I log in, hit user_cp to see if there was any replies that were on my posts and if not I continue to the new posts link. At this point I read and see if there’s any topics I could be interested in and if not I log out.
Most the time there’s something I poke my nose into!

Same here, subscribed posts followed by "new". I occasionally pop into one or two areas just to browse whats going off.

Okay, but what do you view? Do you sit on the main page and hope you notice when something new is posted? Do you click into certain boards to check for the latest posts? What is 'more convenient'?

for threads that I start, I sort of will click into that specific subforums to see if there is any updates on them. same goes to thread where I am selling my service and also promotion thread of Bloggeries, like the referral contest.
else I will sit on main page and try to see which thread title interests me. I don't keep track of all threads which I have participated, I receive email notifications for reply in those threads. I think the main page should list out all individual subforums, since there are not too many here on Bloggeries, make it easier to notice the headlines and replies... It wasn't exactly grouped the way it is now, like 1 month ago... err I mean I don't sign in and log out, I am like permanently signed in, although my browser don't sit on Bloggeries page when I am not using... |

I use the new posts function. Check out the threads that interest me. I also use the search function to find answers to questions I might have.

And yeah, he condensed it a while back and I much prefer it this way. I'm able to see everything at a glance and the lesser, more specific subforums don't clutter up the main page (but you can still see them). I guess if you're hooked on only looking at the last reply in a section from the main board then you might miss a couple here and there, but I think it keeps things cleaner. |

My first port of call is the "new posts" section, then the User CP. Usually that covers most of what I want to do.
I just ignore the threads I miss. It's harsh but it's the best way to be in my eyes from a productivity sense.
