Default Re: Random Life Lessons

LOL you definitely told him. Life lesson learned...

I'm not sure; it could be "think before you speak if you want to be polite" or "Speak your mind when necessary"

It's funny you mention "What I touch turns to gold" I was at a cottage this weekend and we had a discussion about how a brother took over a bar from a friend and he said the same huge ego guy. Sure enough the bar took a serious dive and the other brother had to bail him out.

One thing I have learned in life.... If you have to tell the world how good you are... Chances are you aren't. If you are people already know and a little "humility" goes a long way!

Thanks for sharing,
Rob

But I am talking about the walking ego. haha. We all know one. Well, the other day I had an encounter with one. Bragging about how everthing he does turns to gold...etc....... I had had enough and out of nowhere the response came out......

I said "don't forget, the same God that made you made the cockroach" Well that went over real good. He stormed off without saying a kind word...... lol.

I think i'll keep that line in reserve for special occassions. I hope I never get so bad someone has to say that to me.

Wow KnotGypsy!!

I tried Joomla and let me tell you that was a serious headache with tones of patches etc... Open sources is great if you have alot of free time and are a coder by profession .

Either way I commend you for taking such a large zealous bite at it

You'll be happy with wordpress and work on figuring out the structure of your site before making it pretty... That way you don't have to backtrack.

Thanks for sharing and good luck. I like the domain name as well!

I bit off more than I could chew with Drupal (cms - website builder). Although it is a wonderful system, it is way more complicated than I can handle with my limited skills. I had to switch to WordPress for my new website (KnotGypsyDesigns.com - don't judge it yet, it is a fledgeling). Good old reliable WordPress. I eat crow. WordPress will provide me with plenty of challenge as it is and will do what I want. So. You have heard me admit I was over-ambitious. Please, let's keep it between us...

Speaking about life's lessons and open source software, never ever ever ever ever ever ever use a piece of software called "boonex dolphin". It's a horribly coded piece of garbage.

Default Never pay $130 for Sushi!!

If you are downtown and in the mood for sushi and pull over to the nearest sushi restaurant... Look at the parking signs... ALL OF THEM .

I'm in there eating and a patroller comes around and I think oh I"m safe I put my $ in. Than I go out while they are leaving and put more in thinking alright that should be good. Get about half way home and realize I have a ticket... Pull over go back and stop and people start honking. Turns out for 2 hours a day it's a no stopping zone... That quickly ended my mindset of I'm taking this to court lol.

Long story short always check all the signs around not just the big circled P when parking downtown... Your lunch may cost you alot more
