Default Bloggeries, Bloggerah, Bloggeries...

...blogger a ha-ha-ha-ha-ha.

Long time listener, first time blogger here. I haven't quite built a blog yet, I am still in the learning phase. My goal is to join the ranks of professional bloggers that actually make a living doing so. I hope to be a blank slate while viewing this forum so that I can absorb great information and not have any preconceived ideas as to what will be successful and what will be unsuccessful.

I shopped around for a forum to join and found that the Bloggeries is the best, most active source of blogging information out there that I could find. I am also quite impressed at the adsense sharing option.

I look forward to chatting, listening, learning and contributing in this fantastic forum.

Welcome to the forum Chris!

We're glad to have you here. This place has been growing steadily over the last few months as a place for people to get constructive criticism and share ideas on blogging. Above all else the internet is a network and unless you network with others in your field you aren't taking advantage of the internet. I"ve learned so much on this and all the other forums I participate in.

I'm glad you noticed our positive vibe. It's so easy to insult or point out what is wrong and that is why so many do it. It takes time to see how things can improve and regardless of how much work people have to do their is something good in every blog we've seen here. Like minds attract and I believe that is why everyday more people who are positive, good natured and enthusiastic about blogging are finding us and joining the community.

Best of luck on your projects and welcome to the community!

P.S I have many friends in Victoria and love it there!

Thank you for the warm welcome!

I look forward to learning as much as I can from this site so that I can have blogging take over my income. Currently I earn a living from eBay and affiliate marketing, and honestly it can be quite boring.

I work from a small den from apartment and find that I am out of touch and miss social contact from the real world. I have decided to move from the "old skool" Internet Marketing to the new acceptable form of marketing through web 2.0 properties such as blogging.

I just got tired of this conversation:

Quote:
Person:So, Chris what do you do for a living?

Chris: I'm an internet marketer.

Person: Oh...so you spam for a living?
I hate that I am always associated with spam, so I decided to make a change. I have the uncanny ability to really ramble on and on (as can be seen by this post) so I figured that writing and providing content to people would be a much better way to earn a living. I think people respect the blogging a bit more as opposed to standard internet marketing.

I envision my new conversations going like this...
Quote:
Person: So, Chris, what do you do for a living?

Chris: I am a professional blogger.

Person: Really? That sounds intriguing, how do you do that..."

Anyways, back from my rant...

That's pretty sweet that you have friends in Vic. If any of them are online marketers feel free to toss them my email address. I am trying to shy away from being a one man band and becoming more of a team player

Thanks Paul!

I had a quick question for you mods and admins. When I signed up I entered the Adsense option and I noticed that it said the code should start with "pub-" and I logged into my adsense account to get my Id number and mine started with "ca-pub-", so i also included the "ca" on the adsense section of my profile. Should I remove the "ca" and just have the "pub-"?

thanks

I hear what you are saying above about spam and getting more "out there" it's easy to get shut off from the real world if you spend all your time online. One thing I have found though that if you meet many people talented / creative people it changes who you are for the better. Also working alone is short sighted. Instead of getting all of a small pie why not get 1/2 or 1/3 or 1/4 of a massive one?

Looking forward to seeing you around the forums,

I totally agree. It seems that since I have joined Bloggeries I have done nothing but learn from everyone here. For example I went from a blogger blog that received minimal traffic with a few hits to setting up my own domain and a selfhosted blog using wordpress and on the first day I got a ton of hits plus 5 comments were left on my first post.

Spending time with people who know what they are doing WILL improve your blogging skills and income. Thanks guys!
