Default Hello

Hello, I've been playing around with WordPress for ages, but only started a blog I plan to take seriously a few days ago and looking for forums to chat about blogging on.

Found you on the first page of the big-G doing a search for blogging forums.

Hello Bob!! And welcome to the Bloggeries forum It's good to see that people who are just starting out or already have a blog, join a forum like this, which is a great place to meet with others and talk about blogging..and not only
I've started a blog too, about 3 months ago,at Blogger, but for now, I'm not yet planning on making a fortune with it I still have a long way to go to start earning some serious cash, but I'm in no hurry.
Hope to see you around as often as you can Cheers

Hello Bob!!

Welcome to the forum and nice looking blog. Joining an active forum / becoming an active member is without a doubt the fastest way to advance your knowledge in any particular niche. Not ony that but you may realize you have alot more knowledge than you thought and be able to help others. I got big into the directory business and was in forums related to it all the time. That's how I found Bloggeries and well bought it and revitalized / transformed it into what it is today.

You have the right idea and I love seeing new members take such initiative and dive right in. The web / world in general is filled w/ peope who just read and search for the answers. If you have a question just ask; you will get a much faster and direct answer then you will by doing the old search and search technique.

Glad you found us on google. A few months ago I spent a bunch of $$$ on directory submission using all sorts of terms. I thought maybe I had wasted the $ and should of targetted say only one or 2 terms but in Google Analytics I realized the value; blog, blogging, bogs, forum , forums etc etc I'm ranked well for all of them.

Midwest & Bob; if you think of making $ w/ blog immediately you will lack the persistence to see it through. If you focus on making a great blog you are proud to share with the word the world will come to you and then the $$$ will flow effortlessly!!

Bob: You play any golf in Scotland?

Welcome to the community!
Rob

Heya Rob,

I was saying to Bob!! that no one should think that he will make a fortune with his blog, if he does nothing in creating an attractive blog, in posting useful articles, promoting it or getting visitors. We all know that a blog without all this things it's wasted, right? So, as you said in your reply, we should make one that we'd be proud of and would like to share it with others and once the ball is rolling, making money with it would be easier

Thanks for the welcome from you both

I know that you see adsense on my blog and think I'm out to make a fortune, but $200 a year would do just fine for me to pay the hosting bill
To be honest I have adsense up because I love the links it provides, any money made ($7.22 in 2 years) would be a bonus. If never fancied trying the other options because adsense provides better links in my experience.

I really got here because I frequent a Forum Admin forum from time to time and saw someone I kind of knew had just started a forum about Blogging which was something I was considering doing myself at the time and decided it would save me the hassle of setting one up

It's very quiet in there at the moment and I was getting bored with no one to talk to and decided it would make sense to hang around some busier blogging forums as well. And here I am, after signing up for nearly a dozen forums and browsing the posts to see what the members were like and chatted about I decided I liked the look of here and one other blog (I've seen you post on that one Rob, but I'll not mention a competitor). So now your stuck with me, I know my way around the workings of the WordPress themes so hopefully I'll be able to help out other members from time-to-time, but I really am new to taking blogging seriously so I'm here to learn as well.

Enough ranting for now (just in from night shift and me need sleep)

We are glad to have you as a member here at Bloggeries. Even though you're new in the blogosphere, this is no problem at all..because we all need to learn new things in life. No one is born to know everything, without learning.
It is a good thing that you are willing to help others with WordPress. After all, we are a community here and that's what we should do: to help each other, to ask questions and give answers.
Hope to see you around, either giving someone an advice or asking one for yourself. Keep in touch.

Hi Bob,

I didn't actually notice the adsense. I am just another Robert who goes on "Rants" once I start a train of thought I digress and just go on tangents until I'm wondering what I'm typing about again .

Welcome to the forum, glad to have someone as familiar with wordpress as yourself; you already helped me out w/ the sticky info for categories. I'm going to look into that once I return. Aso going to start a personal blog soon. SO MUCH liberty with them!

Best Regards and glad we're stuck with you!
Rob

@Sydney - Thanks, glad to be here.

@Rob - Three adsenses on each page and you didn't notice it must be doing something wrong

I've never used the sticky thingy as the skin I've got has featured articles built in which does a similar thing (best $30 I've ever spent on the web), would be good to know what you think once you've tried it (you could review it for your personal blog, you got content already).

Anyway back to work no, I'm adding my photoblog into my blog so I only have one WP install, and it's fun and games. Lots of little changes to exclude photoblog posts from the index and the next/prev links and change the category view for one cat. Probably shouldn't have started this, but you live and learn
