I came across this at random, but it seems like a good thing.
I'm just here to connect with other writers/bloggers. I live in Wisconsin and am currently working as a freelance writer/humor columnist/temp. Exciting, I know. My blog can be found at http://temmahkrik.wordpress.com. Huzzah again! Last edited by temmahkrik; 12-12-2006 at 12:16 AM. Reason: Forgot to add link. |

Glad to have you here!! Yes, we are new, and hopefully will get something good going here.
I just had a look at your blog. Looks like you have been at it for quite some time. I will take a look a little deeper into it tomorrow. BTW I LOVE the tagline on your blog. "making the rest of the blogosphere look good since ought-six". LOL Priceless!! |

Chrissie, I just checked out the link to your articles. Great stuff! I haven't yet put together a page of my published stuff, but I'm slowly getting around to it.
I'm glad you decided to use this forum! I look forward to getting to know you, too. -Amanda |

Hi all nice to meet you here.
Chrissie, I seen your signature http://www.associatedcontent.com/. is it similar just like blogit.com? Last edited by Wordpress_guy; 05-14-2007 at 01:42 AM. |

Wordpressguy -- no, associated content is a company i write for. It is basically a content producing site. I write whatever I want (as you can see) and sell it to them. Sometimes if I have not sold something exclusively to one of my clients, I will resell at AC. The money is ok, but for me the best tool is the page I get for my own PR or samples when I am scouting new clients.
Amanda - how are things going in the freelance world? |

I seen you have about 30 article with associated content. Do they simply buy all your articles? or they select which article they want?
All I know In blogit, you just can simply put your article in there and if people interested with your article, they should buy it from you. So blogit don't care really much if you don't have any buyer or not. Last edited by Wordpress_guy; 05-03-2007 at 01:19 PM. |

Wordpress, I have never used blogit but that is interesting to know. Currently I am too busy with my steady clients that I don't even have time for AC anymore.
How AC works is you sign up for the site as an author. Then you can submit and ask to publish an article on just about anything. That really means, anything. So if you have a niche you like to write about go for it. When you submit, it goes to a review editor, and you will hear within two weeks if it has been accepted for publication. They send you an offer by email. To date I have had only 1 article rejected, it was a movie review, and that was only because they don't pay for movie reviews anymore. A tip if you go for it, is to sign up for all of their newsletters. You will get ideas for writing, like, what is hot right now, the kinds of things they are likely to accept. You will also hear about special contests where they will offer more for your submissions. All of my solar light work and spring decorating is a result of their contests and I did very well with it. |
