Warm greetings to all here!

I am a 45-year old happy housewife (not desperate!) who knows just a little bit about computers and IT, who just discovered the joys of blogs last week, and somehow found myself here at Bloggeries. I decided to register at this forum with the hope that you guys would be able to guide me through on how to set up my own blog.

A little bit on my yet-to-start blog (as I only got this idea to have my own blog just 2 days ago!) - I am going to write from a happy housewife point of view on how to stay sane and happy being a housewife (hahaha!) with various methods, secrets to good cooking for the soul, tips on easy and effective household cleaning, home remedies for health, healing soups for the souls, and how to achieve peace and calm in our mind, all from my experience. My target are all those housewives and anyone else who may be interested in the ramblings of a 45-year old happy housewife! and of course, I will also have some real funny grandmother or housewives' stories/experiences to perk up the interest of the readers on my blog.

I also have the intention setting up an online store if my first blog goes well.

But in order to achieve all these, I would need some help here from you guys and I will really appreciate from the bottom of my heart all the guidance given to me. Hope you will be patient with this not-so-old housewife who is almost computer illiterate!

...and now I shall go off to the appropriate section to post my first question there!

Welcome to the forum!

I'm glad you have decided to start blogging you seem to be quite knowledgeable on the topic and have a vision of what you want the site to look like.

I'd suggest you start reading posts in this section: http://www.bloggeries.com/forum/blog...ls-discussion/

As well as read through some posts in http://www.bloggeries.com/forum/blogging-basics/

Use the search button to find older posts and if you need an answer please just start a thread and someone will answer it. It's often easiest to begin reading some beginner tutorials and than going through it asking one question at a time. Better to take your time than rush.

First real decision is to go with a free host or your own domain. I always push for your own domain if you are serious and you seem to be.

Wow, that was a quick reply - thanks, Rob!

Okay, at least now that you have pointed out the links for me to read up on, I am very relieved that there is now a line of focus for me to zoom in - I was experiencing sensory/information overload yesterday! LOL!
