Again I ask for a scammer section for us who have been scammed.

I support this idea too...Adding a scammer section would be a nice forum to be able to periodically scan through.

Just my two cents. I'm not a big fan of this idea, but the final word is Rob's.

My two cents in here as well...I'm not a huge fan of this idea either, Paul. A dedicated scammer forum would accomplish two things (in addition to whatever good could come from it):
1. Turn into a bash-fest, occasionally without cause. (And creating a ton of extra moderation work to be done.) 2. Attract scammers to the forum. If this were a democracy, I'd vote "no". It's not, of course, since "one man, one vote" in regards to Bloggeries means "Rob's the one man, he's got the one vote." And that's fine with me. |

I've kinda gotta pass on this idea, too. If you've been scammed, make a post about it (like you did)! People will read it (even if they don't reply). And if you wonder if someone else here has been scammed by something, do a search or...make a post about it! I just don't think there needs to be a full board dedicated to this.

Good idea I recently got scammed. Somebody promised me $5 when I put their link to my blog and never got paid. At least moved the link to my article so this business customers should know that they will get scammed too.

This has been debated to death on other forums that I'm on and ultimately I just can't do it.
The reason I can't is because.... Who are we to be judge and jury? I'm not saying that you weren't scammed superman but this is my fear. We open a scam section and people do mention scammers etc... (I'm ok with that). The issue I have is kinda like what a lot of people have with capital punishment... What if the guy we're all bashing and I'm allowing to be bashed on my forum didn't actually scam someone? What if someone is bitter that competitor X is doing AWESOME doing lot's of promotion building lot's of tools leaving lot's of comments and really growing their business. It's too easy for someone to cry foul and this person who is otherwise scam free is labeled a scammer. Imagine if it happened to you? Further more legally I can't open a place on my site to basically hate on other people. Some are warranted I wholly agree but it is too touchy a topic for that. If I'm allowing the posts too and the WRONG guy gets accused it could be a legal mess for me. That being said I'm not 1000X sure we won't but I'm pretty close for the reasons mentioned above it's just to hard to verify these things before throwing someones name through the mud on cyberspace. Furthermore this site ranks well for most terms and that's why Paul and I do as best we can to make sure that it's family friendly through and through. If we started having the word sc@m everywhere some people searching how to scam would inadvertently use this. It's kinda like how on TV they go into detail sometimes how this murderer did his/her work... All it's doing is giving someone with less creativity but no conscience ideas. .If wanted we could collectively put together some guidelines to ensure you aren't scammed like checking references, some payment up first etc etc...
