I had an idea, well a thought really, that it might be beneficial for us to post our most recent blog articles in this thread. Then members can tweet your articles and visa versa. I have a feeling that this would really help some blogs out. So if you are interested please post a link to your most recent blog article with a short description that we can re-tweet. Thanks for reading.

Hello everyone, I am currently looking for a few members who might be interested in starting a small blogging syndicate or community. This venture would be equally beneficial to all parties involved. Essentially it would involve communicating, guest posting, sharing idea / blog feedback and also helping one another with promotion and link building. I know this sounds like a lot, but it would actually be very simple. All that needs to take place is the exchange of emails, or it could be accomplished via PM, through this forum. I know the power that a few blog owners can have when they communicate and share ideas. I have done this before many years ago and I was pleasantly surprised just how much this benefited the 10 of us (there were 10 of us at the time). If this sounds like something you and your blog might be interested in please send me PM and we can exchange emails. Or if you prefer it can all take place over PM.

(This syndicate will never exchange passwords or sensitive information of any kind, if you are attempting to steal information or hurt a blog in any way please do not bother replying to this thread)

Hey guys I wrote this article a few days ago for my blog and I thought that it could help some of you promote your blog and get that traffic you deserve. Let me know what you think, and if this article helped you in any way.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ____________________________________________

Get traffic and promote your blog using forums (FSP)
(article from info-junkie.com - Tutorials, Reviews, News and More)

Getting blog traffic can be hard. Sometimes it can seem impossible. So you’ve racked your brain, tried everything you can think of, and still your not getting the blog traffic you desperately need. There is a simple remedy to this problem and it will get your blog traffic, FAST. The solution I speak of is called, “Forum Self Promotion”, or FSP, as I have named it. FSP is a simple and effective strategy to getting some serious blog traffic, without spending money or wasting time on promotion tactics that don’t work. If you are brand new to the internet, or just haven’t heard of, or used forums, a forum is: A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged. Forums are everywhere. There are million of forums on the internet, all of them aimed at different categories or niches. This tutorial will teach you how to harness the power of those forums, and use them to your blog’s advantage. Read through this short tutorial, and before you know it your blog or website will be getting some serious traffic.

Find your blog’s niche or category:

Finding your blog’s category or niche is easier than it might seem. Ask yourself, “what is the goal of my blog”, or “why did I start my blog to begin with”. I will use my blog as an example for this tutorial. Info-Junkie.com is my blog, as you have no doubt figured out by now, seeing as how your here. My blog’s goal, niche or aim is to provide the public with tutorials, reviews, and general knowledge. Essentially my blog is a mash-up of a bunch of different categories, which many blogs are. It is considerably harder to use FSP (forum self promotion) with a blog like mine, because it is hard to nail down exactly which category I should focus on, because I have so many. However, it is important to focus on each category separately, and one at a time. Take a second to write, or type out a list of a few categories that sum up your site. Below is a list of categories I believe best represents my site as a whole:
1. Tutorials – Gaming tutorials, Software tutorials, Misc tutorials
2. Reviews – Hardware, Software, Misc reviews
3. SEO (search engine optimzation) – Backlinks, SEO tips and tricks
These are but a few categories that I was able to put together for my site, but this list will do. Your list will most likely be longer, or it may not, some blogs only focus on one or two main topics. It is important to remember that all blogs are different.

Using your niche to find the right forums:

Finding the right forum to promote your site on is easier than you might think. Select your favorite search engine: Google, Yahoo, Bing, any of them will do. Go to the search box and type something along the lines of, “My nicheforums”, where “my niche” is replaced with your blogs category. For example, if I were attempting to promote my blog’s gaming tutorials, I would type, “gaming forums”. Remember, “Less is not more, only more is more”, the more forumsthat you can post on, the greater your blog’s promotion will ultimately be.

Setting up your forum profile:

Most forums require that you sign up with them before you begin to post. This may seem like a huge hassle, but in fact it is actually a good thing. Forum profiles allow you to do many critical things that will ultimately help you promote your blog. You can write a short bio, where you describe your blog and can even put a link to it. Some forums even allow you a place to directly input your website. This allows users who see your forum profile to locate your site, it also can provide you with a free backlink, which will help your site rank higher on search engines like google. Forum profiles also allow you to place a signature, which will appear under all of your posts, you can use this to further promote your site, without directly spamming your website link. Try putting a picture with your site name in your forum signature, or even just put a link to your site, anything helps.
Most forums require that you provide an email address, used to confirm your account. It is sometimes a good idea to create a separate email just for this purpose, as forums can create a lot of spam mail. It is a good idea to head over to gmail.com and create a new email address used exclusively for forums.

How and where to start posting:

This is without a doubt the most important part of this entire tutorial. Figuring out how and where to post can be hard. You do not want to come across as a spammer, only making threads about your website, as these will get deleted by forum moderators, and most people ignore these type of posts. There are two different ways that you can go about posting on forums, and not seeming like a spammer.
1. Post your article or link to your article in your posts
2. Comment on posts that already exist and get your name and signature out there

1. Post your article or link to your article in your posts:

This is the first way to start posting, and in my opinion, the best way to go about promoting your blog. Once you have entered your forum, pick a category that suits an article you have on your site, or write and article specifically for this purpose. If I am on a gaming forum and I have an article about a certain game I would go to that category, and make a post with the article’s title as it’s title. Now you have one of two options, either post the entire article on the forum, or post a link to your blog where the forum is located. Write something like, “Hey guys, I have found a great article on (your article here) it has great information on (your information) here’s the link: (your link here)”. This is a way to make a post, and at the same time, not come across as a spammer. If you decide to post the entire article, make sure to put your website address under the title.

Tags, Tags, Tags, they are important!

* Don’t forget to put tags in your new post. Most forums allow you to enter a few tags for your post. Put only the most relevant tags to your post. These tags help others search for your post on the forum, and also help your posts appear on search engines. You would be surprised how often forum posts appear on google searches. I have several forum posts that appear as rank 1 and rank 2 on google. This is a great way to get site promotion without getting tons of backlinks or using SEO. *

2. Comment on posts that already exist and get your name and signature out there

The other strategy that exists out there is to comment on other’s posts and use your signature to promote your blog for you. Pick any category on the forum that you feel you have some insight on. Answer questions, post your comments, or even your suggestions. Make yourself known on the forum in a good way, don’t rub others the wrong way. The more you post, the more your forum signature is promoting your blog for you. If you have a good signature picture and text, it will attract members eyes to it. They may become curious, and then you get some traffic. Sometimes, if the thread permits it, you can even respond to a thread with your blog’s url. For instance, if the thread said, “I am looking for a good site for tutorials”, I would post my blog’s url, because I am not spamming, I am simply answering the original poster’s question. Just try and stay active on the forums, let people know who you are and what your about. The more insight and good information you have, the more credible you seem, and thus more people will want to check out your blog.

Use high page rank forums to get you top hits on search engines:

Sometimes forums with high page ranks can appear high on the search engine rankings. Lets say you do a google search for a popular set of keywords for your site, and a forum pops up, YOU ARE IN LUCK! For example, if I do a google search for, “How to advertise your Minecraft server”, a forum named minecraft-forum.net appears very high on the rankings. I happen to have an article on this very topic. So I simply create a thread on the forum and used the exact keywords I used in google to find the forum, and then use them again in the tags, and BAM! My post on the forum now appears rank 2 on google search for this set of keywords. Try doing this yourself, type a few of your article titles in your favorite search engine, and see if any forums pop up. If they do try what I suggested and thank me later. This is a great way to piggyback on well established pages and use their site to promote your own.

I won't be just selling shirts that have my blogs name on it; nobody would buy those. I mean T-shirts that are related to blogging; something like I <3 Blogging.
Do you think bloggers would buy shirts like that if they saw them?

Hello, I'm an economy student who's been in the blogosphere for about 4 years but never really had the courage to write on a regular basis. I was always terrified what would people think of me and my writting, but recently I decided to give it a shot. This is why I would like to stick with Blogmaster instead of using my real name :)

My blog can be located on blogmaster dot me and as you can probably see, I'm using Blogger. This is because I think it has a lot of potential and it's easier to set up out of the box. The blog will contain posts about how to write for web, how to keep yourself and others motivated and how to do things innovatively :)

I found out about this forum on a blog I was reading recently, but forget what the adress was. It was among top 10 forums for bloggers.

I want to be a regular visitor here, as I tend to find motivation for writting, and I wish to showcase my work.

Hope to have a good time with you ;)

I am honestly just curious! I know I have only been blogging a few months, but I don't feel like I'm getting enough traffic to my blog. I was featured on another fashion blog a few weeks ago, and I got almost 1,000 pageviews a day, just from being featured on there, but the traffic slowly went back down. So I can only imagine the sort of traffic that blogger is getting on her blog. So how many do you guys get? And how do you get to that point?

I'm using blogger. So far I've tried searching through every widget (that was tedious) and then I found an article explaining where to get the code from on facebook and how to add it to your blog's html. I did that, I followed every step to the dot and it didn't work. So... please help me!

Hey Bloggers,

Just wondering what blogging communities besides Bloggeries you frequent. I have built a big blog following over the years but have recently started looking to find new circles of influence. Is anyone here a member of fuelmyblog, inbound, blogengage or biz sugar?

Would love your experiences.

Beth :)

The ad at the top of the forum is for the Blog World Expo 2012. Is this ad fed to Bloggeries by a third party? Do they know they are advertising an event from the past?

(The reason I bring it up is because I was looking around for trade shows, conventions, meetings, etc. for bloggers. Then I remembered the ad on Bloggeries. Unfortunately it is for a past event.)

I found this site through google, looking for a Blogging Forum so I can ask some questions in areas that I dont have that much experience in.
