Default Is EntreCard Doing Any Good For You?

I've been using EntreCard for quite a while on my blog and recently, I decided to dig into the traffic it brings to my site. While I think I have found new readers for Piggy Bank Pie, still the Average time on site from EC visitors is below 30 seconds and bounce rate averages 97%.

I'd like to get your thoughts on EntreCard and if you think it brings real good traffic. I invite you to read my post:

Seriously I use 10 min (max) of my day on entrecard just to request new ad spot and see how much does it costs to ad on my blog. At the begining I wasn't really happy with entrecard but after one week I can tell that it brings traffic but not always permanent readers.

I have found that when I had less Entrecard traffic, it was of a higer quality (lower boucne rate, more time). Once I started to buy advertising space I got more traffic from Entrecard, but my bounce rate went up and I suspect many of those were chain droppers bouncing from one widget to the next. Clicks through from ads aren't as good as those that actually look me up on Entrecard.

Still considering whether to go down this route. I think I'll give it a go and see how it goes. Can always remove it if it does nothing for my blog.

I'm considering more and more just putting the EC widget in my footer personally. It doesn't really bring in many new people anymore. In the beginning it was awesome. I'm sure part of it has to do with me not using it so much but really... I see the same cards most of the time I login...

It's a mix I'm sure most are members as I recognize them. Can't say for sure. That being said forums are like that. I'm a member of some... Sometimes I'm on them day and night for a few weeks then other times I may vanish only to revisit later. Who knows

It truly has brought me some great readers and exposure. I was doing loyal dropping and commenting for over 1 month.. bounce rates schmounce rates I thought at the beginning, and still feel it's a plus to advertise out there. I let my rating drop being on vacation and prior to that, just not having the time. But, if it brings you exposure, it's free, and you find things you like, and folks you can correspond with.. why not.

Its grown so much too, there are always new places to advertise and reach out. I think its great for new blogs, and new bloggers to get acquainted
