Default Who are Chain Droppers Here?

If you don't let a day pass by without dropping the maximum 300 drops, you are a chain dropper.

If your only objective of visiting a blog is to drop your entrecard and earn credits without any intention of reading, you are a chain dropper.

If you visit a blog and spend no more than 30 seconds, you probably are a chain dropper. You are the reason why some Entrecard Users have high bounce rate.

Anyone who has the courage to admit he/she is a Chain Droppers?

I disagree.

A chain dropper is someone who goes to a site, drops their card, then clicks the ad on the Entrecard widget and drops on that site. It's called chain dropping because you drop on a chain of sites linked together by advertising.

People who drop with no intention of reading are the "drop and run" crowd.

You can be a chain dropper and still spend time looking at a blog. And I think it's unfair to say that's why sites have a high bounce rate. If I go to a site and I don't like it, why should I stay there for longer than I want to? This is irrelevant of whether I find it through Entrecard or not.

People who drop 300 cards a day are dedicated droppers, not necessarily chain droppers.

Personally, I don't chain drop, I have only hit 300 drops once since I joined Entrecard over 3 months ago, and I read and comment on the blogs I like. Just so you know I'm not defending chain droppers for being one myself, because I'm not one. I just don't agree with your comments.

@Ben

The ones I identified characterize what a chain dropper does. I don't think it's possible for someone to reach 300 drops in a day if he/she doesn't do chain dropping. Bloggers have other things to do, like make a post, read, reseach and comment so there's no way someone gets to drop 300 in a day unless he/she is a chain dropper (A.K.A. dedicated dropper, A.K.A. full time dropper).

Since chain droppers aim to get as much credits in a day by dropping their card to 300 blogs, they'd probably not read blogs. Otherwise, they'd go crazy reading over 300 posts. Do you honestly believe that's possible? This leads me to my other conclusion that chain droppers' MAIN OBJECTIVE is to drop.. drop... drop and drop their entrecard. NOT TO READ... NOT TO COMMENT... JUST DROP. This makes chain droppers included in the "Drop and Run" crowd you mentioned.

Normally, it will take about less than 30 secs to wait for the entrecard to load and drop your card. And since chain droppers don't have enough time to read and or comment, they don't stay longer. This apparently causes bounce rate to go up. Google analytics can back me up with this one... so as the testimonials of other bloggers who have been using Entrecard.

Note: I believe Entrecard is very useful to bloggers, that's why I am using it on my blog. Entrecard is especially helpful to the newbies and the little ones. What makes it bad are those who tend to abuse and misuse the system for their advantage.

LOL! I like how you guys are trying to argue between the terminology between it. Either way, chain dropping or drop and run, it's still bad lol

I tried chain dropping when I was first into EC. I'd just go and drop as fast as I could. SOMETIMES I'd read blogs. I've chained maybe 100 credits since I've been a member so I don't care.

Frankly what's the big deal with a high bounce rate from free traffic?

For the most part it's free so why is everyone complaining? 90% bounce on free traffic means 10% are sticking around and it's free!?

Also just look at a forum and look at your behavior - did you signup here FIRST time you visited or did you come to visit here via promotions done by myself a few times... lurk... read some messages ... lurk... then FINALLY register.

I believe same may be true of entrecard traffic.

I'm a mix. I do the chain thing, but I actually look at the blog's most recent post. If it's not interesting to me, then I go on. If it is, I'll actually read it. If I come across the same site a few times and find that their stuff is consistently good, they may have just made me a regular reader.

So I'm not a chain dropper by your definition, but I do follow the advertising chain.

I have to disagree (and not because Ben did, lol) that just because you drop on a lot of blogs means you don't read them. It may be true of some members but visiting 300 blogs doesn't mean you have 300 posts to read since many don't post daily or even somewhat regularly.

I have about 180 blogs on my regular drop list, all of which have subjects I'm interested in reading. I therefore subscribe to all of them and to use them as an average example, only a quarter of these would have a new post per day. So in a full 300 drop, there would be 75 new posts - 45 of which were already read through the feeds. That leaves only 30 blogs where there would be an unread post. That doesn't take long to get through.

I know the example doesn't factor in any unseen blogs. This is actually a very low percentage for me, maybe 15 of my drops are blogs I've never seen before. For those, I check out their overall subject. If it's interesting, I read a few posts and maybe subscribe. If it's not, I leave. That's pretty standard of any visitor, Entrecard member or not.

When I first started with Entrecard I dropped like crazy, I really wanted to get the #1 spot in my catagory. I was successful and stayed in the top three for a couple of weeks.
I still spend a lot of time dropping, but now that I don't care if I am in the top spot or not I am not so fanatical about it.
I would never make a true chain dropper because I do end up reading posts, and commenting and what have you.
I certainly don't mind if people drop and run on me. I'll take the credit from their drop and buy ads. And maybe next time I'll write something that interests them and they will stick around awhile.

One thing is sure, if I come to a blog and I see nothing but ads above the fold, I'm not going to bother to scroll to see if they have interesting content! I'll drop and run quick!
