The Art of The Ramp | John Chow dot Com
I like John Chow if you haven't already noticed. He does have a lot of good advice and this post is one of them; basically when launching a new blog or site ... Go big or go home! I've been doing steady growth and I've found that with steady you get steady growth and decline. He's explaining how when it comes to traffic and promotion you have to go big like a ramp to get yourself high then once there it's easier to stay there... I see it like launching a space ship you put all your energy in the beginning to get to orbit than once there it's easier to stay there. If you just maintain from day one how will you ever reach orbit? ![]() I'm going to start ramping up my promotions especially via social bookmarking and hopefully some other ingenious methods that come to me or through discussions like this. What do you think?

Well, I think it would be a good thing if you can afford the time to GO BIG because yeah, basically everything is either BIG or well, GO HOME. Look at new product launches and what happens after all the initial hoo-haa has died off
![]() Good luck, Rob!

I hear you Pelf, Obviously you have to put your heart in soul into the project but if you are willing to "Go for it" you gotta "go for it" can't make it to second without taking your foot off first they say.
That space / time of uncertainty is what separates many who have the guts and those who don't.Obviously from a revenue standpoint some are better bets than others!

I ran across an interesting post on a blog called TSMI - titled - It Would Be Funny If It Weren't Sad - it is located at tsmiBlogs dot com
I have managed to be pretty well ranked for the industry I am in, under trade show blog, it will be interesting as time goes on to watch how this develops. |

Apologies.. that would be tsmi dot blogs dot com

So is that your site or not? You said you ran across it. Either way goes to show that if the niche you are in isnt' that competitive for the term it's easier to get ranked. Lots of niches still not being serviced on the net while a few are being done to death with only a few making profits.
