Eh, I wouldn't say useless. At the very least it would give you a nice bump to PR, nothing major but at least its something. For a new blog, or something that has had trouble getting good search engine ranks I can see it being a decent idea.

Google values duplicate content (especially duplicate content x 400) as worthless, so you'd hardly be benefiting. Also, building 400 links so fast will probably see you slapped.

I'm not saying it would be terribly useful, just that it wouldn't be useless.

I doubt it would be worth the $8, but its not a terrible service, and could prove useful. At the very least it gives you a presence on the internet, which does help.

Personally, I wouldn't use one of these services, if anything I would do a paid commenting service, where people will come and comment on your blog.
